It follows a middle-aged widower who enlists the help of his film producer friend to stage fake auditions in order to meet a new girlfriend, only to find that the young woman he chooses has a dark past.     Hot Take: Whistle

    Whistle is a 2026 teen-centric horror film directed by Corin Hardy (The Nun) that follows a misfit group of high school students who stumble upon a cursed artifact: an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. Unaware of its power, the teenagers blow the whistle, releasing a terrifying curse that forces them to confront their own mortality as their future deaths begin to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the group must desperately investigate the origins of the object to break the deadly cycle. An adaptation of Stephen King's 1981 novel of the same name, it follows a mother and her son who are trapped inside their car while protecting themselves from a rabid St. Bernard. Principal photography was shot by Jan de Bont and the score was composed by Daytime Emmy Award winner Charles Bernstein.     The Long Kiss Goodnight is a 1996 American action-thriller film co-produced and directed by Renny Harlin, and produced by Shane Black and Stephanie Austin from a screenplay by Black. It stars Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Amandes, Yvonne Zima, Brian Cox, Patrick Malahide, Craig Bierko, and David Morse. The story follows an amnesiac schoolteacher (Davis) who sets out to recover her identity with the help of a private detective (Jackson) when they uncover a dark government conspiracy. The score was composed by Alan Silvestri.
