The Armor Men's Health Show

Dr. Sandeep Mistry and Donna Lee

The Armor Men’s Health Show is what happens when a board-certified urologist and a stand-up comedian walk into a studio… and actually help people. Hosted by Dr. Sandeep Mistry, founder of Urology Specialists of Austin, and professional, touring standup comedian, Donna Lee, this weekly podcast tackles the medical topics men care about… but don’t always want to Google in public. We talk about all things men's wellness including the big stuff:  Erectile dysfunction.  Prostate cancer. Low testosterone. Enlarged prostate. Fertility. Kidney stones. Vasectomies. Yes. We go there. Boldly. Dr. Mistry brings the medical expertise. Donna Lee brings the questions you’re slightly embarrassed to ask. Together, they make men’s health informative, approachable and occasionally hilarious. But it’s not just about anatomy — The Armor Men’s Health Show takes a holistic approach to wellness, covering nutrition, weight loss, sleep, sex therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, and how all of it connects to living better (and longer). Also featured are top physicians and specialists from around Austin — from cardiology to endocrinology to orthopedics — because men’s health isn’t one-size-fits-all. If you like your medical advice credible, practical, and sprinkled with comedy, this is your show. Because taking care of yourself shouldn’t feel awkward. Unless we’re talking about a crooked body part. Then it’s a little awkward...but they can fix that.

EP 795: For Your Sexual Experiences, Don't Be Shy! You Might Have Erectile Dysfunction and Dr. Yang Will Tell You Why!

Hey there, you magnificent, marvelous and downright handsome humans! 🎙️✨ In this episode, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee welcome Urology Specialists of Austin's own Dr. Christopher Yang for an eye-opening conversation about erectile dysfunction (ED)—what causes it, why it happens, and why treatment isn't one-size-fits-all. Many men assume ED is just a normal part of aging, but there are often underlying medical reasons that deserve a closer look. The team explains the comprehensive evaluations available at Armor Men's Health, including hormone testing through specialized blood work, ultrasound imaging to evaluate penile blood flow, and physical exams to identify scar tissue or other structural concerns. But they don't stop there. Because sexual health is closely connected to overall health, they also discuss how conditions like hypothyroidism, sleep apnea, anxiety, depression, and even medication interactions can all play a role in ED. Sometimes the solution is as simple as adjusting how or when a medication is taken—or identifying an entirely different health issue that needs attention. Whether your symptoms are new, you've struggled for years, or you're simply looking for answers instead of guesswork, this episode explains why a thorough evaluation can make all the difference. Tune in to learn how the team at Armor Men's Health and Urology Specialists of Austin helps men get to the root of the problem and create personalized treatment plans that restore both confidence and quality of life. EP 794: Tired of BPH Symptoms, We Presume? There are Lots of Options Including Urolift and Rezum!

Hey, guys! If you're dealing with BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia)...IYKYK! 😅 Are you tired of getting up several times a night to pee? Frustrated because you never feel like you've completely emptied your bladder? Dealing with that annoying post-pee dribble that can be downright embarrassing? If any of that sounds familiar, you don't have to keep suffering! In this episode of The Armor Men's Health Show, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee answer a listener's question about one of the potential side effects of the Rezūm® procedure for an enlarged prostate: retrograde ejaculation. Is it treatable? Dr. Mistry explains why it happens, what can be done about it, and what men should know before choosing a BPH treatment. The conversation also explores how dramatically enlarged prostate treatment has evolved over the past 40 years. What was once limited to the traditional TURP procedure—often nicknamed the "Roto-Rooter" surgery—has expanded into several highly effective, minimally invasive treatments that can often be performed right in the urologist's office with less downtime and quicker recovery. Dr. Mistry compares two of today's most popular BPH procedures, Rezūm® and UroLift®, discussing the pros and cons of each, who makes a good candidate, potential side effects, and what patients can realistically expect after treatment. If you're wondering which option might be right for you, this episode is packed with practical information to help you have a more informed conversation with your urologist. To schedule an appointment and learn more about Rezūm®, UroLift®, or the many other BPH treatment options available at NAU Urology Specialists, call (512) 238-0762. We'd love to help you get back to sleeping through the night—and spending less time searching for the nearest restroom! EP 793: Something Causing You Pains and Moans? We'll Answer Your Questions About Kidney Stones!

In this episode of The Armor Men's Health Show, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee dive into more listener questions—and, as usual, things get educational, entertaining, and just a little inappropriate. 😂 First up: How much water is TOO much water? One listener knows he's supposed to stay hydrated and help prevent kidney stones, but he's drinking so much water that he's constantly running to the bathroom! Dr. Mistry explains how much urine your bladder should typically be able to hold (about 10 ounces—the size of a can of soda) and why feeling the constant urge to go could mean your bladder isn't sending the right signals. They also discuss overactive bladder treatments, procedures, and smart kidney stone prevention. And because it's the Armor Men's Health Show...yes, penile rings somehow make their way into the conversation. Again. 😂 Dr. Mistry explains how men may be using them incorrectly and what you need to know. Next, a listener asks about calcium and kidney stones. His wife says he isn't getting enough calcium, but he insists he eats "tons of butter and cheese." LOL. We know where this is headed. 🧀 Dr. Mistry tackles his concern that calcium supplements could cause kidney stones and debunks the common myth that calcium should be avoided simply because it's often found in kidney stones. He also explains why getting enough calcium is so important for maintaining strong bone health. Join us every week for fascinating health discussions, surprising answers, plenty of laughs, and answers to YOUR questions! Have a question for Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee? Submit it at ArmorMensHealth.com, and they may answer it anonymously on the show! EP 790: Dustin Fontenot, PA-C, Will Throw You A Bone And Explain Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome!

** PLEASE PARDON THE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES IN THE LAST TWO MINUTES OF THIS EPISODE ** In this episode of The Armor Men's Health Show, Donna Lee is joined once again by Dustin Fontenot, PA-C, of Urology Specialists of Austin, the practice behind this entertaining and educational podcast dedicated to men's health. Each month, Donna and Dustin tackle some of the most misunderstood, taboo, and often embarrassing topics in urology—because if men are hesitant to ask the questions, someone needs to answer them! This week, they dive into the fascinating and rare condition known as Post-Orgasmic Illness Syndrome (POIS). While uncommon, POIS can be life-altering for those who suffer from it. Imagine experiencing severe flu-like symptoms, brain fog, fatigue, muscle aches, and intense pain after every orgasm—sometimes lasting anywhere from two to seven days. For some patients, the discomfort can reach an 8 out of 10 on the pain scale and occurs every single time. Researchers believe that many cases may be linked to an allergic or autoimmune reaction to a patient's own semen. In fact, one of the diagnostic tools used by specialists may involve allergy testing with the patient's own semen—a process that is as unusual as it sounds. Dustin explains the symptoms, possible causes, and current treatment options available to help patients manage this challenging condition. While there is no universally effective cure, some therapies may include antihistamines, allergy medications, anti-inflammatory pain relievers, and certain medications used to treat BPH that may reduce symptoms by causing retrograde ejaculation. As always, treatment plans should be discussed with a qualified urologist. Join Donna and Dustin for this eye-opening conversation about a condition most people have never heard of—but one that can dramatically impact quality of life. Be sure to subscribe to The Armor Men's Health Show for new episodes every week, and share the podcast with friends and family who enjoy learning about health topics that nobody else is talking about! 🎧 Follow The Armor Men’s Health Show wherever you listen to podcasts.
