Jonty was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12, and admittedly spent years trying to keep it hidden, while quietly struggling with control and the mental load that comes with it. Over time, through better technology, community, and movement, things started to shift. Jonty has since completed Ironmen, multiple 100-kilometre runs, a 500-kilometre run from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and a four-day ultramarathon through the desert. He’s now an ultrarunner, running coach, and owner of two running stores in London ( @runlimited.ldn ). This conversation is about living honestly with Type 1 Diabetes, reducing the mental burden, and what becomes possible when the condition stops being something you hide.     Today’s episode is a little bit different, because Eoin talks about something that’s actually made day-to-day life with Type 1 Diabetes that bit easier, food tracking. If you live with Type 1, you already know that carb counting and logging food can feel overwhelming, tedious, or just another mental load on top of everything else. Eoin has tried plenty of apps over the years, and honestly, most of them either felt too complicated or just didn’t fit real life. Recently, he started using a food tracking app called Vida Health, and wanted to share his experience with it; what he likes, what’s been genuinely helpful, and how it’s made carb counting feel simpler as a whole. This isn’t about perfection or tracking every bite forever. It’s about having a tool that actually supports you, especially when managing blood sugars day to day.
