One Doctor's Commitment to Healthy, Plant-Based Children
What started as a simple tweet, turned into an episode on the Plant Based Eating for Health Show with Dr. Matthew Nagra.
The response to the tweet was incredible, and obviously hit a nerve with thousands of men and women around the globe.
“Why is it that no one seems to bat an eye when a parent feed their kids unhealthy, garbage fast food, but the minute they say, "I'm raising my children on a healthy, whole food, plant-based diet" people scream child abuse? Really?? Have u checked stats on disease & obesity 4 kids?”
Based on the responses the tweet received, I put out a request to my Twitter followers for a medical professional who advocates for children eating a healthy, plant-based diet.
Within minutes I received a message from Dr. Nagra, who had been referred to me from my friend and colleague, Sandra Nomoto.
Sandra is the author of the newly released book, Vegan Marketing Success Stories.
One thing about the vegan community is people know people. Based on the recommendation by Sandra, followed by watching a previous interview Dr. Nagra did about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle for children, I just knew I had to have him on the show.
Dr. Nagra grew up in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. From a young age he struggled with multiple health issues such asthma, allergies, and weight management.
It wasn’t until taking control of his own health and transitioning to a plant-based diet that Dr. Nagra noticed significant improvements, which were ultimately the catalyst for the career he chose. His mission is to help others do the same.

Reversing the Aging Process with a Whole Food, Plant-Based, Vegan Diet
Obesity, cancer, and high blood pressure were only a few of the conditions Linda Middlesworth was living with when a chance meeting with a neighbor she barely knew would change Linda’s life forever.
At the age of 44, Linda had grown accustomed to not feeling well. Not sure where to turn for help, she confided in her new friend while walking their dogs at a local park.
“Check out Dr. McDougall’s work,” her friend advised.
Eager to feel better, Linda picked up a copy of The McDougall Plan: 12 Days to Dynamic Health.
Immersing herself in the book, Linda took the information to heart. Within a few days of implementing Dr. McDougall’s information, Linda began to feel better.
The first to admit she was 100% on target, once she adhered to Dr. McDougall’s protocol she lost 50 pounds, reversed her high blood pressure and cancer, and had a completely new lease on life.
Fast forward 34 years. Linda Middlesworth is a force to be reckoned with. Her passion for the vegan lifestyle goes beyond her own health. She is a vegan mentor and very committed to animal advocacy.
V-Dog is Born
Realizing dogs were being subjected to a decline in their health due to the poor quality of most off the shelf dog brands, Linda and her late husband knew there had to be a better way to feed dogs.
In 2005, their dream became a reality and v-dog was born. V-dog was the first vegan dog food company in the USA and remains a family owned, vegan business to this very day. www.v-dog.com
