    Genesis 4–5: Temptation, Porn, and Lasting Freedom | Ep. 154

    What does it actually mean to “rule over” sin when temptation feels overwhelming? Continuing their journey through Genesis, Wailer and Adena move into Genesis 4 and 5 to examine Cain, temptation, desire, and the devastating consequences of allowing sin to take control. God’s warning to Cain, “sin is crouching at the door... but you must rule over it”, raises an important question for anyone who has felt trapped by pornography or unwanted sexual behavior: Is lasting freedom really possible? Wailer and Adena argue that Scripture gives us more than a command to simply try harder. It gives us a path toward transformation. They discuss the importance of Scripture memorization, replacing old patterns with the pursuit of righteousness, and practicing spiritual disciplines even when they initially feel boring or difficult. Freedom isn't found by white-knuckling your way through temptation.     Genesis 3: The Fall, the Curse, and God's Better Story | Ep. 153
