    208. When to Rescue & When to Let Go: Stop Enabling and Let People Grow

When you love someone, it can be incredibly difficult to watch them struggle. Our instinct may be to fix it, protect them from consequences, solve the problem, or step in before they have to face the discomfort of their own choices. But is that actually love? In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we talk about when to rescue and when to get out of the way—and how to recognize the difference between genuinely supporting someone and unintentionally enabling them. Sometimes love means helping. Sometimes love means setting a boundary. And sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is step back and allow someone to experience the consequences, struggle, or discomfort that can lead them toward growth. We also talk about one of the most important truths we can remember in our relationships: You are not their Savior. You can pray for someone. You can encourage them. You can speak truth. You can set healthy boundaries. You can walk beside them. But you cannot do their repentance, healing, obedience, or transformation for them. Only Jesus can be their Savior. In marriage, family, friendships, and other relationships, rescuing can sometimes become enabling. We can become so focused on protecting someone we love that we unintentionally prevent them from growing, taking responsibility, or recognizing their need for God. In this episode, we explore: • How to tell the difference between helping and rescuing • When support becomes enabling • Why consequences can be necessary for growth • How to love someone without taking responsibility for their choices • Setting healthy boundaries without abandoning someone • Why you cannot be someone else’s Savior • When getting out of the way is actually an act of love • How to support someone without becoming the solution • Trusting God with the people we love Sometimes loving someone means stepping in. Sometimes loving someone means standing beside them. And sometimes loving someone means getting out of the way. God reveals and God heals. We don’t have to take the place that only Jesus can fulfill. If you’re navigating a difficult marriage, family relationship, addiction, unhealthy patterns, enabling, boundaries, or simply learning how to love people without losing yourself, we hope this conversation brings truth, freedom, and hope. 207. Sex in Marriage: Stop Using Sex as a Weapon & Start Pursuing Each Othe

Sex in marriage can be one of the most beautiful expressions of connection—but it can also become an area of hurt, rejection, frustration, and distance. In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we’re having an honest conversation about sex and sexual intimacy in marriage. What happens when one spouse is no longer pursuing the other? What happens when sex becomes a weapon, a bargaining chip, or something that is withheld because of unresolved hurt? We talk about the importance of personal responsibility in marriage, the biblical call to not deny one another, and what it can look like to take ownership of your part—even when your spouse isn’t fulfilling their role. We also talk about something we believe can be incredibly powerful in a marriage: pursuit. Sometimes pursuing your spouse isn’t just the result of healing—it can actually become part of the healing. Being pursued communicates, “I want you. I choose you. You matter to me.” And rebuilding physical affection doesn’t always mean sex. Sometimes healing begins with learning how to connect, communicate, and desire one another again. And if you’re stuck? Get help. You don’t have to figure this out alone. This is an honest conversation about sex, rejection, desire, responsibility, intimacy, healing, and what it means to keep pursuing your spouse. Because no story is too far gone. 206. Parenting & Marriage: What We Got Wrong, What We Got Right & What Matters Most

What does it really take to raise kids well? In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we’re getting real about Christian parenting, marriage, faith, and the mistakes we’ve made along the way. After raising three children, we’re sharing some of our biggest parenting failures, what we believe we got right, and the lessons we wish we had understood earlier. We talk about the powerful impact parents have on their children—for good and for bad—and how much our kids are shaped by what they see lived out in our homes. We believe one of the most important things we can give our children is an authentic faith—not just teaching them what to believe, but showing them what it looks like to genuinely follow Jesus. We share about the importance of pursuing a healthy marriage and how that impacts your children. Parenting can bring incredible joy, but it can also expose our weaknesses, failures, fears, and shortcomings. We don’t have all the answers, and we certainly haven’t done everything perfectly. But we’ve learned that God can use imperfect parents who are willing to grow, humble themselves, pursue their marriage, and point their children toward Him. If you’re looking for Christian parenting advice, parenting encouragement, marriage advice, or practical wisdom for raising kids with authentic faith, we hope this conversation reminds you that you don’t have to be perfect—you just need to be faithful. Because your kids are watching. And your story is still being written. 205. From Death to Life | The Power of Prayer & Shields of Faith

There are moments in life when you realize you are completely dependent on God. In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we share the full story of how our son became a living miracle after being saved from death. We walk through what happened, the moments when we didn’t know what the outcome would be, and the incredible community of people who surrounded our family with prayer, encouragement, support, and unwavering faith. As we watched God move in the middle of a terrifying situation, we experienced what it means to have shields of faith all around us—people standing in the gap, praying when we couldn’t find the words, believing when circumstances looked impossible, and reminding us that God was still present. This is more than a story about a medical crisis. It’s a testimony of God’s faithfulness, the power of prayer, community, faith in the middle of fear, and what it looks like to trust God when you don’t know what’s going to happen next. Our son is here. He is a living miracle. And we believe God deserves every bit of the glory. If you are walking through a crisis right now, waiting for a miracle, praying for your child or someone you love, or simply struggling to believe that God is still working, we hope this story reminds you: You are not alone. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep pursuing God. No story is too far gone. In this episode: • Our son’s life-threatening medical crisis • How close we came to losing him • The moments that changed everything • The power of prayer during a crisis • The people who stood with our family • What it means to have “shields of faith” around you • Trusting God when you don’t understand • Seeing God’s faithfulness in the middle of fear • Why community matters when life falls apart • Our testimony of a living miracle If this episode encourages you, share it with someone who needs hope today. 204. Are You Limiting Your God-Given Capacity?

What if you’re capable of more than you’ve allowed yourself to believe? In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we talk about increasing your capacity and what it means to step into the God-given potential He has placed inside of you. Sometimes the thing holding us back isn’t a lack of ability—it’s the limits we’ve learned to live with. Fear, disappointment, insecurity, past experiences, comfort, and the opinions of others can create invisible ceilings in our lives, our marriages, our relationships, and our walk with God. We’ll talk about how to recognize the self-imposed limitations that keep you stuck, challenge the lies that have shaped the way you see yourself, and allow God to expand your capacity to love, forgive, lead, grow, communicate, endure, and live with purpose. Whether you’re working on personal growth, spiritual growth, marriage growth, emotional healing, or strengthening your relationship with God, this conversation will challenge you to ask: Am I living at the capacity God has given me—or am I limiting what He wants to do in and through me? God reveals and God heals. And sometimes increasing our capacity starts with believing that we can grow beyond where we are today. In this episode: * Increasing your God-given capacity * Overcoming self-imposed limitations * Breaking through fear and insecurity * Growing emotionally and spiritually * Expanding your capacity in marriage and relationships * Learning to trust God with more * Moving from comfort to growth * Recognizing the lies that keep you stuck * Becoming who God created you to be * Progress, not perfection If this episode encourages you, subscribe to Unrelenting Pursuit and share it with someone who needs to hear that their story—and their capacity for growth—is not over. 203. Why Your Spouse Can Drive You Crazy: The 6 Working Geniuses

Why does something that feels easy and natural to you seem completely exhausting to your spouse? Why can you see what needs to be done while your spouse seems to miss it? Why do some conversations energize you but drain them? And why can the very things you admire about your spouse sometimes be the things that drive you crazy? In this episode of Unrelenting Pursuit, we’re diving into The 6 Working Geniuses by Patrick Lencioni and exploring what it can teach us about marriage. The 6 working geniuses—Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement, and Tenacity—help explain the different ways people naturally contribute, solve problems, make decisions, and get things done. And understanding these differences can be incredibly powerful in marriage. Because sometimes what we interpret as laziness is actually a different wiring. What we see as criticism may be discernment. What feels like controlling may be someone trying to galvanize. And what feels like disengagement may simply be someone operating outside of their natural genius. The goal isn’t to use a personality framework to excuse selfishness or avoid responsibility. It’s to learn how to understand, appreciate, communicate with, and work alongside the person God gave you. What if some of the very differences that frustrate you are actually part of what makes you stronger together?
