Canada's Dystopian Surveillance Bill | Is It A Massive Mistake?

Bill C-22, the **Lawful Access Act**, would allow police and CSIS to confirm, without a warrant, whether you're a customer of a specific telecommunications provider. It would also allow regulations requiring certain providers to retain metadata for up to one year and prohibit companies from notifying customers in many circumstances. This isn't the first attempt at this legislation. Much of the framework previously appeared in Bill C-2 before being removed and reintroduced as Bill C-22.For this episode, I read the legislation itself, the federal government's Charter Statement, official government background documents, and analysis from legal experts, privacy advocates, and technology lawyers. Don't take my word for it. Another $100 million in funding for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank

Last week, Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister announced another $100 million in funding for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. That brings Canada's total commitments since late 2023 to more than $500 million. That same week, Statistics Canada confirmed Canada had entered a technical recession after two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth. Business investment has now declined for five straight quarters, while more Canadians are struggling with housing costs, rising grocery bills, and a cost of living that continues to outpace many household budgets. These two stories dominated the same week. This episode asks a simple question:How does the government decide where Canada's money should go; and do those priorities reflect what Canadians are experiencing at home? We'll examine the numbers, the government's own announcements, and what leading economic indicators are saying about the country's direction. Whether you agree or disagree with the conclusions, the goal is the same: look at the evidence before forming an opinion.Every source used in this episode is linked below. The Most Dangerous Canadian Gang You've Never Heard Of

Canada had already identified the Bishnoi network as a banned criminal organization. So why did it still take months—and in some cases years—for deportation proceedings and enforcement actions to catch up?This episode examines the timeline behind one of Canada's most troubling organized crime investigations, from the attack on AP Dhillon's home to questions surrounding visa screening, deportation delays, and coordination between federal agencies. In this episode, Kelsi breaks down:→ How members connected to the Bishnoi network entered Canada through legal immigration pathways→ The timeline leading from criminal convictions to deportation orders→ Why a deportation hearing was delayed after officials temporarily lost track of a convicted offender already in custody→ What the government's own documents say about the network's activities in Canada→ The questions Canadians should be asking about visa screening, enforcement, and institutional accountabilityThis isn't about blaming an entire community. The government's own documents state that many of the network's victims were members of the Indo-Canadian community. This episode examines whether Canada's institutions responded quickly enough—and whether the systems responsible for screening, tracking, and removing serious offenders are working as intended. All primary sources, including CBC reporting and Government of Canada documents, are linked below.Buy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Rumble - https://rumble.com/user/TheKelsiSherenPerspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsisherenSubstack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenSUPPORT OUR PEOPLE - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - https://www.MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://www.brassandunity.com

The Last Unreleased Conversation With Jon Bernthal

Years ago, I sat down with Jon Bernthal for a conversation that was never released. Now, we're sharing the final chapter. In Part 3 of this three-part series, Jon and I reflect on what comes after military service, the lessons learned through adversity, and the experiences that ultimately shaped the path ahead. What began as a conversation about service and deployment evolves into a broader discussion about purpose, healing, leadership, identity, and the challenges of rebuilding life after profound experiences. We talk about the realities many veterans face when transitioning home, the search for meaning after leaving the military, and the people, relationships, and moments that can change the course of a life. It's an honest conversation about resilience, growth, and finding a way forward when the mission changes.Although this interview was recorded years ago, the themes remain as relevant today as they were when we first sat down. Questions of purpose, belonging, responsibility, and healing continue to affect veterans, first responders, and countless others navigating life after difficult experiences. This conversation was never intended to be a polished presentation or a carefully crafted message. It's simply two people talking openly about service, struggle, recovery, and the lessons that come from living through challenging chapters of life. For years, this interview remained on the shelf.Today, we're sharing the final installment. This is Part 3 of a previously unreleased conversation with Jon Bernthal.Part 3 of 3.- - - - - - - - - - -Buy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Rumble - https://rumble.com/user/TheKelsiSherenPerspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsisherenSubstack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenSUPPORT OUR PEOPLE - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - https://www.MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://www.brassandunity.com

Jon Bernthal & Kelsi Sheren: The Lost Conversation | Part 2

Years ago, I sat down with Jon Bernthal for a conversation that was never released. Now, we're sharing that conversation for the first time.In Part 2 of this three-part series, Jon and I continue discussing military service, Afghanistan, leadership, identity, and the realities of life during and after deployment. We talk about the experiences that shape people in uniform, the challenges many veterans face when they return home, and the often difficult process of finding purpose beyond military service. This part of the conversation explores the transition from soldier to civilian, the relationships that carry us through difficult periods, and the lessons that stay with us long after the uniform comes off. We also discuss resilience, accountability, personal growth, and the moments that force us to reevaluate who we are and where we're headed.Although this interview was recorded years ago, many of the themes remain just as relevant today. The struggles surrounding identity, belonging, mental health, and purpose continue to affect veterans around the world, and the conversation feels every bit as meaningful now as it did when it was first recorded. What began as a discussion about military service evolves into a broader conversation about responsibility, healing, and the challenges of building a life after profound experiences. It's an honest, unfiltered exchange that covers both the hardships and the opportunities that can emerge from adversity. This is Part 2 of a previously unreleased conversation with Jon Bernthal.Part 2 of 3.- - - - - - - - - - -Buy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Rumble - https://rumble.com/user/TheKelsiSherenPerspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsisherenSubstack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenSUPPORT OUR PEOPLE - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - https://www.MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://www.brassandunity.com

Why is MAiD in Canada fact-checking a question I asked?

This week, an outlet in Canada contacted me with a series of questions about comments I've made regarding MAiD and organ donation in Canada. The inquiry references an earlier AFP fact-check and subsequent CTV coverage, but rather than send a private response that can be summarized or selectively quoted, I decided to answer every question publicly and in full.In this episode, I walk through the original comments, clarify what I was asking, explain what I believe the evidence shows, and respond directly to each of the four questions sent to me.I also examine publicly available guidance from Canadian Blood Services, Health Canada's funding of CAMAP, and concerns raised by bioethicists regarding the relationship between MAiD policy and organ donation systems.Whether you agree with my conclusions or not, I believe these discussions deserve transparency, context, and a complete public record. This video is my answer, on the record.Sources• Blendr News Interview (33:42 and 44:26)• The Kelsi Sheren Perspective Episode Referenced (18:04 and 19:02)• Sarah Westall Interview (25:29)• Canadian Blood Services / CMAJ — Deceased Organ and Tissue Donation After Medical Assistance in Dying: 2023 Updated Guidance for Policy• Health Canada — Canada Releases Medical Assistance in Dying Accredited Training Program for Health Professionals (September 2023)• Macdonald-Laurier Institute — Bridging the Gaps• MAiD in Canada Article (add link when published)Chapters0:00 — Why MAiD in Canada Contacted Me1:00 — The Actual Record: The Quotes in Question2:30 — My Direct Answer3:30 — What the Documents Actually Say7:00 — Answering All Four Questions9:30 — Final Response- - - - - - - - - - -Buy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Rumble - https://rumble.com/user/TheKelsiSherenPerspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsisherenSubstack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenSUPPORT OUR PEOPLE - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - https://www.MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://www.brassandunity.com
