Have you ever felt like you had one foot in the life you built and one foot in the life you're meant to live? In this Inspiring Possibilities panel, Olympic gold medalist Michelle Cameron Coulter sits down with three women who chose to go all in on themselves. One was told she was "too nice" for senior leadership, then lost her business to two fires. One went from a 16-day coma to national debate champion, professor and company president. Social Anxiety, a DUI & Fear of Failure: Army Vet Turned Entrepreneur | Brian Connors

Overcoming social anxiety, fear of failure, and a career-ending mistake: Army veteran, entrepreneur, and Ironman triathlete Brian Connors shares how he rebuilt his confidence and turned his lowest moment into two thriving businesses. On this episode of Inspiring Possibilities, I sit down with Brian Connors, a military veteran, business founder, and Ironman triathlete with plenty of experience stepping into new territory. Brian joined the Army as an officer and occupational therapist, dreaming of helping amputees recover. When a DUI ended his military career and his doctoral program, he had to start over. He opens up about living with severe social phobia, fighting imposter syndrome, and why he took up Ironman triathlon to prove to himself what he was capable of. Brian went on to start Testudo Logistics, which provides healthcare staffing for military and government programs, and eSym, which delivers motivational interviewing training to help people support positive change. Outside of work, his love of triathlon and travel keeps him exploring new places and pursuing new challenges. His perspective is shaped by service, entrepreneurship, and the persistence it takes to keep moving forward. It's proof that courage isn't the absence of fear. It's having a "why" that's bigger than it. In this episode, you'll learn:✅ How to keep going when fear of failure hits hard✅ What Brian learned about leadership and imposter syndrome as a new Army officer✅ How he coped with social anxiety while teaching and public speaking✅ Why Ironman training rebuilt his self-confidence✅ How a military veteran started a business winning government contracts✅ What motivational interviewing is (and why it's NOT motivational speaking)✅ The advice he'd give his 12-year-old self: perseverance and play 🤝 CONNECT WITH BRIAN CONNORSLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianpatrickconnors/Testudo Logistics: https://testudologistics.com/eSym (Motivational Interviewing Training): https://esym.training/ 🔗 RESOURCES MENTIONEDChallenged Athletes Foundation: https://www.challengedathletes.org/Simon Sinek, "Start With Why" TED Talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action 🎧 Enjoyed this episode? He Turned Grief Into a Movement That's Saved Thousands of Lives | Tom Everson

I sat down with Tom Everson — founder of Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 and creator of the Live Forward Pikes Peak Weekend — for one of the most powerful conversations I've had on this podcast. In this episode, I dig into how a simple running slogan from 1998 turned into a 28-year traffic safety movement spanning 1,700+ communities across 49 states, Canada, and even Australia.   Tom shares the real story behind his nonprofit's work in under-resourced communities in Detroit, St. Louis, Phoenix, and Houston — led almost entirely by women and women of color. We talk about his powerful "framing story" question, why he believes discipline is really about teaching (not punishment), and the two questions at the heart of his traffic safety campaign: Who do you love? Who loves you?   I also get the full story behind the annual Pikes Peak Ascent — a grueling 13.32-mile trail race to 14,115 feet where runners carry the names of loved ones lost in traffic incidents on their backs, and families come together to heal, celebrate, and "Live Forward."   This conversation covers grief, community building, fatherhood, traffic safety advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and the ripple effect of saying yes to something bigger than yourself.   💛 Upcoming Event: The Billion Dollar Impact Party Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 is a featured beneficiary at the upcoming Billion Dollar Impact event on Saturday, August 29th, 1–3 PM Central Time. Bestselling Author at 18: Avery Crumrine on Rejection & Confidence

I sat down with 18-year-old bestselling author Avery Crumrine to talk rejection, confidence, and building a business before you feel "ready."   Avery wrote and self-published her first book, Intention Into Action, for $0 — no agent, no publisher, just her laptop and pure follow-through. She's also the teen entrepreneur behind sold-out entrepreneur fairs, a Women in Business chapter, and charity auctions that have raised over six figures for nonprofits — all while finishing her finance degree in San Diego.   In this episode, I ask her everything: what it's really like growing up with entrepreneur parents, how she turned crippling stage fright into her first public talk, why she thinks so many successful entrepreneurs are dyslexic or ADHD, and the moment she tore up five failed drafts of her own book before it finally worked.   If you've ever sat on an idea because you didn't feel confident enough, qualified enough, or "ready" enough — this episode is your permission slip to just start.   If you'd like to learn more about Avery, I've included the links in the show notes below to her Intention into Action book, her follow-through system, her follow-through community, and all the ways you can connect with her.   WHAT WE COVER: - Meet Avery Crumrine, bestselling author at 18 - Growing up with entrepreneur parents - Her first business & running entrepreneur fairs - The first time she ever went on stage - How rejection built her resilience - Where real confidence actually comes from - Self-publishing a book for $0 - Facing the fear of judgment - Chasing goals bigger than you feel ready for - Joining Women in Business in college - Launching charity auctions that raised six figures - Courage lessons from her parents - Final thoughts: raising the champion in you   GUEST RESOURCES Website: https://averycrumrine.com/ Book, Intention Into Action: https://www.amazon.com/Intention-Into-Action-Wanting-Something/dp/B0GMZ2V4VS     If this resonated, subscribe for more real, unfiltered conversations with entrepreneurs, authors, and everyday people choosing courage over comfort.   #BestsellingAuthor #TeenEntrepreneur #IntentionIntoAction #OvercomingRejection #YoungAuthor   ✨ Get Your Free Starter Guide: The Courage to Jump In Ready to take the first step toward courage, growth, and new possibilities?
