#218 - Walking Humbly with God in Weight-Loss

Ready for support as you learn to stop overeating, renew your mind, and walk in peace with food? 💗 Inside my coaching app, I help Christian women learn how to plan their meals, allow urges, and renew their minds so they can stop overeating and feel free around food. CHECK OUT THE CHRISTIAN WEIGHT-LOSS APP HERE Have you ever felt like peace is waiting on the other side of weight loss? If you could just lose the weight…finally get in control…finally reach your goal… Then you’d feel confident, peaceful, and happy. But what if peace was never found in a smaller body? In this episode, I’m sharing what God has been showing me through the book of Ecclesiastes and how it applies so powerfully to weight loss. Ecclesiastes describes life apart from God as “chasing after the wind”—and I couldn’t help but see how many of us do this with weight loss. We chase thinness believing it will finally give us what we’re looking for. Or we swing the other direction into indulgence—using food for comfort, relief, and escape. But neither obsession nor indulgence leads to peace. True peace and joy are found in walking humbly with God. In this episode, we talk about:• Why weight loss can quietly become a chase• The two extremes many women swing between: obsession and indulgence• Why peace isn’t found in achievement or pleasure• 4 practical ways to walk humbly with God in your weight-loss journey If you’ve been feeling exhausted by the constant striving, this episode will encourage you to slow down, reconnect with God, and find peace in the present moment. You do not need to wait until you’re thinner to walk in peace. That is available to you right now. — If this episode resonated with you and you’re ready to stop chasing peace through weight loss, I’d love to help you learn how to walk with God in a practical way with food and your health. 💗 Inside my app, I teach you how to stop overeating, allow urges, renew your mind, and create lasting freedom around food. #217 - Proving & Hiding - Why We Keep Starting Over

💗 FREE CHRISTIAN WEIGHT-LOSS GROUP CONSULT 💗 If you're tired of starting over with food and ready for practical, faith-based support, I'd love to invite you to our free Christian Weight-Loss Group Consult on June 18th at 10:00 AM PST. We'll discuss why we overeat, the thoughts driving our behaviors, and practical steps to create more peace around food. REGISTER HERE Proving or Hiding? Why We Keep Starting Over Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind tells you what you're not? "I'm not disciplined enough.""I'm not consistent enough.""I'm failing.""I'm behind." In this episode, I'm sharing a pattern I lived in for years during my own weight-loss journey: proving and hiding. When I believed something was wrong with me, I would either: • Prove myself by searching for another diet, another cleanse, or another set of rules. OR • Hide by avoiding the scale, stopping my meal plan, and overeating to feel better. What I eventually realized is that both behaviors were fueled by the same belief: "Something is wrong with me." In this episode, we'll discuss how these thoughts create emotional pain, why overeating often becomes a solution to that pain, and how to return to a place of safety, truth, and peace with God. If you've ever felt stuck in the cycle of trying harder, giving up, and starting over again, this episode is for you. In This Episode You'll Learn: • The difference between proving and hiding• The hidden belief that often fuels overeating• Why more food rules don't create lasting peace• How shame drives both restriction and overeating• Four practical steps to return to safety when you feel stuck• How God's kindness leads us toward lasting change Questions From This Episode: • Am I trying to prove something?• Am I hiding from something?• What am I believing right now?• Is this thought creating peace or panic?• What is my next faithful step? Scripture Mentioned: Proverbs 23:7"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Romans 8:1"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 2:4"It is God's kindness that leads us to repentance." Connect With Me If this episode encouraged you, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend. #215 - Beliefs Fueling Over-eating

💗 Join The Christian Weight-Loss App:A faith-based community helping women stop overeating, renew their minds, and create lasting change through God’s truth.  JOIN HERE Last week, we talked about how overeating is often a solution. But today, we’re going deeper. Because sometimes the emotional pain we’re trying to escape with food is being created by the way we see ourselves. In this episode, we’re talking about the beliefs quietly fueling the cycle. The thoughts many women live inside every single day:• “I have no self-control.”• “I always fail.”• “I’m addicted to sugar.”• “I’ll never change.”• “I’m either perfect or failing.” These beliefs don’t just affect how we feel emotionally. They shape how we show up around food. In this episode, we discuss:✨ how shame-based thinking increases emotional suffering✨ why identity shapes behavior✨ how the brain gathers evidence for what we believe about ourselves✨ why shame does not create peaceful healing✨ the difference between conviction and condemnation✨ and how renewing the mind creates lasting transformation One of the most powerful truths in this episode is this: “Sometimes we aren’t just overeating food. We’re overeating the story we believe about ourselves.” Friend… your struggle is not your identity. God does not define you by your coping mechanisms, your hardest moments, or your eating habits. Scriptures in this episode:• Proverbs 23:7• 2 Corinthians 10:5• 2 Corinthians 5:17• Romans 8:1• Romans 12:2• John 8:32 💗 Inside The Christian Weight-Loss App, I help women practice the four simple steps that lead to lasting change: Plan your meals Eat what you plan Allow urges Repeat Inside the app, you’ll find Bible study teaching, coaching, practical tools, community support, and help renewing your mind with God’s truth.
