45 Days In, His Wife Noticed the Difference | Dave Warn’s Story

THE POWER OF A DAILY RESET What can change in just 45 days when you learn how to reset your thoughts, energy and perspective? For Dave Warn, the answer became obvious when his wife noticed the difference. After 17 years in franchising, Dave knows what it feels like to carry a demanding schedule. Long days. A packed calendar. Constant responsibility. And like so many business owners and leaders, it can be easy to carry all of that home with you. But just 45 days into The Zee Suite®, Dave says he feels calmer, more centered and better able to leave work at work. One tool that's become part of his daily routine is the Daly Reset, which he uses every day and sometimes two or three times a day. In this conversation, Dave shares a simple shift that says everything. He used to wake up, look at a grueling calendar and think, “Ugh.” Now he can look at that same calendar and think, “What a blessing.” Same calendar. Different thought. Different energy. Different experience. We talk about thoughts becoming things, finding calm in the crazy, and the idea from The Strangest Secret that your mind is like a garden. What are you planting every day? Because whether you're a franchisee, franchisor, consultant or business leader, you bring your thoughts and energy into every conversation, decision and action you take. Sometimes you don't need your circumstances to change. You need a way to reset how you're showing up inside them. 45 days in, Dave's wife noticed the difference. Dave feels it too. WHAT YOU’LL HEAR • What Dave’s wife noticed after just 45 days • Why Dave uses the Daly Reset every day, sometimes multiple times a day • How he has become calmer and stopped carrying as much of his workday home • The shift from waking up dreading a packed calendar to seeing it as a blessing • How the thought you attach to your circumstances can change the energy of your entire day • Why staying centered matters when business feels demanding • Dave’s experience with thoughts becoming things • What The Strangest Secret teaches about treating your mind like a garden • Why franchisees need to pay attention to what they are “planting” mentally every day • How franchisors can support franchisees beyond business strategy alone • Why sometimes the circumstances don’t need to change. You need a way to reset how you’re showing up inside them. Struggling Franchise Owner? What You Do Next Changes Everything | David Lemaire

What do you do when your franchise is struggling, money is getting tight, and the business you were once excited about starts filling you with fear? Anyone can feel confident when business is booming. But what do successful business owners do when the clients aren't coming, expenses are mounting, and everything they can see seems to be telling them that their business isn't working? That's the conversation I'm having with franchise owner David Lemaire. David's journey to business ownership didn't begin in a boardroom. As a child, David survived a near-death experience that profoundly shaped the way he sees life. Years later, while driving for Uber, he discovered something else that would change his direction: he loved helping seniors. One ride became another. David began networking and building a reputation as the person seniors and their families could trust to help them get where they needed to go. Eventually, he saw an opportunity to turn that heart for serving seniors into something bigger and invested in a HomeWell Care Services franchise. But something changed when money, expectations and the pressure to make the business succeed entered the picture. The business became hard. After approximately one year of franchise ownership, David had signed just five clients and was struggling. That's when someone referred him to me. After our first coaching conversation, David signed three new clients within 48 hours. Five in a year. Then three in two days. So what changed? The franchise didn't. His territory didn't suddenly change. David began changing the way he was thinking, feeling and showing up in his business. I encouraged him to read Earl Nightingale's The Strangest Secret, and he began seeing his business and his possibilities differently. Hope returned. Things started happening. And then life got hard again. David learned he was losing his lease. Financial pressure resurfaced. The excitement faded, and the familiar negative thoughts began creeping back in. And THAT may be the most important part of David's story. Because personal development isn't about learning how to think positively when everything is going your way. The work matters most when your circumstances are giving you every reason to think negatively. Losing a lease can mean: My business is failing. Everything is going wrong. Or it can mean: An expense is being removed. What if this creates an opportunity to become more profitable? The circumstance hasn't changed. The meaning you give it has. And that meaning influences how you feel, what you see, the conversations you have, the opportunities you notice and ultimately what you do next. This episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising isn't a polished success story with a neat ending. David is still in it. And that's exactly why I wanted you to hear his story. Because there are franchise owners listening right now who are in it too. You're working hard. You're worried about money. You're questioning your territory, your franchise, yourself—or all three. And your current results are making it increasingly difficult to believe that something better is possible. Please don't make your biggest decisions from your smallest thinking. David's story demonstrates how quickly something can begin to shift when a struggling business owner gains a different understanding of where results come from. It also demonstrates why this work isn't a motivational speech, a book you read once or one powerful coaching conversation. It is a practice. And it's why community matters. When your current...

How to Turn Around a Struggling Franchise in 90 Days | Colleen Kraus-Mangel

How do you turn around a struggling franchise when you’re working hard, following the franchise system, and still losing money? What if the problem isn’t that you need another business strategy but that you need to change the way you’re showing up to the strategy you already have? Earlier this year, Colleen Kraus-Mangel thought she might have to close the doors to her Assisted Living Locators franchise. Before business ownership, Colleen had successful careers in HR and banking, but corporate life had become toxic. She worked with a franchise consultant, found Assisted Living Locators, and genuinely loved the business and believed in the work she was doing. But for a year and a half, she struggled. By the time I met her, the financial pressure had become so intense that she was sleeping less than two hours a night. I knew I wanted to help her. She couldn’t afford to pay in full for The Zee Suite®, so I created a payment plan that allowed her to get started. Colleen joined June 1, 2026. On June 25, just 24 days later she sent me a message referring to June 1 as: “The magical day my life changed.” And here’s what I want every struggling franchise owner to hear: The first turnaround wasn’t financial. It was Colleen. She was sleeping again. She had hope again. She felt calmer, more confident and more optimistic about her future. And from that place, she continued doing many of the same things she had been doing before. But the results began to look dramatically different. Facilities that had been saying no started saying yes. Commissions unexpectedly increased. Payments began arriving on time or faster. Her average placement increased from approximately $2,000 to $5,000. For months, Colleen had wondered whether the problem was her territory a fear many struggling franchise owners can relate to. Same territory. Same franchise. Same process. Different Colleen. Different results. And the changes weren’t limited to her franchise. A piece of land that had been sitting with no activity for six months suddenly found a buyer. An unexpected large sum of money came into her life. People even began asking whether she had lost weight because she physically looked different. She looked different because she was different. In this episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, I go deeper into the coaching behind Colleen’s transformation and why The Zee Suite® is about so much more than positive thinking. We talk about what happens when a franchise owner moves out of fear, pressure and desperation and begins operating from confidence, clarity, expectation and possibility. Colleen believes these changes are sustainable because she understands how she created them. She isn’t working harder. In some ways, she may be working less. But when the business starts working, the money is flowing, and you’re enjoying your life again, everything feels different. Colleen was already a great student of her franchise system. Now she is becoming a great student of applying a confident mindset to that system and creating entirely new outcomes. So where will she be in another 90 days? A year from now? Somewhere very, very good. And if you’re a franchise owner who is working hard, following the system, but still struggling to create the profitability and life you expected from business ownership, Colleen’s story is for you. What Successful Franchisees Do Differently | Briana Dyer

Are you a franchise owner struggling to grow your business, questioning whether franchise ownership is right for you, or wondering what successful franchisees do differently? Nine months ago, Briana Dyer was asking herself those same questions. Her franchise wasn’t producing the results she expected. Her monthly revenue had fallen to approximately $19,000, and she was reaching the point where she was considering whether it was time to close her business. Then she joined The Zee Suite®. 60 days later: $51,000 in monthly revenue. Approximately 60 days after that: $93,000. Then came $100,000+ months and a first-quarter finish as the #1 franchisee in her system. Same franchise. Same business. Same tools. Dramatically different results. In this episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, Briana shares her franchise turnaround story and what changed when she stopped looking only at business strategy and began changing the way she thought, led, sold, networked and showed up as a franchise owner. But Briana’s biggest transformation isn’t the revenue. Nine months ago, she was questioning whether she was cut out for business ownership. Today, she’s wondering what other businesses she might own. Her confidence is different. Her clarity is different. Her vision, goals and sense of possibility are different. She’s playing golf. Taking ski vacations. Enjoying her life. And making the kind of money she envisioned when she first invested in her franchise. She’s also creating new opportunities through networking—including a major relationship that will put her products on display in a model showroom for assisted-living homes. This is a conversation about franchise success, franchise profitability, business growth, networking, mindset and what separates top-performing franchisees from average performers. But more than anything, it’s a story about what can happen when the franchise doesn’t change—but the franchise owner does. And Briana has done all of this in just nine months. Imagine where she’ll be in two years. And imagine what might have happened had she closed the business before discovering what she was capable of creating. If you’re a franchise owner who feels stuck, isn’t getting the results you expected, or knows there is more potential in your business, this episode is for you. IN THIS EPISODE: ✔️ Why Briana was considering closing her franchise ✔️ Her journey from $19K → $51K → $93K → $100K+ months ✔️ How she became the #1 franchisee in her system ✔️ What changed when she joined The Zee Suite® ✔️ Why the same franchise and same tools began producing dramatically different results ✔️ How mindset, confidence and clarity changed the way she showed up as an owner ✔️ How networking opened unexpected new opportunities ✔️ Her transformation from questioning business ownership to dreaming about owning more businesses ✔️ How greater success created more money, freedom and enjoyment of life ✔️ What successful franchisees do differently RESOURCES Contact Kim to learn more or get started: TheZeeSuite.com/start Approximate Chapters 00:00 – What Successful Franchisees Do Differently 02:15 – When Franchise Ownership Isn’t Going as Planned 05:00 – Considering Closing Her Franchise 07:30 – Briana Finds The Zee Suite® 10:00 – From $19K to $51K in 60 Days

Laid Off 5 Times. He Found Stability Through Franchise Ownership

Can business ownership actually provide MORE stability than a corporate job? After being laid off four or five times, Andrew Siegel and his wife started asking themselves a very different question: What could we build that would finally put more control over their future in their own hands? And then COVID hit. In this episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, Kim Daly sits down with Andrew Siegel, owner of The Junkluggers of Greater Dallas, to talk candidly about five years of franchise ownership—the wins, the challenges, the changes he never anticipated, and whether he'd do it all over again. When Andrew began exploring business ownership, he wasn't simply looking for another job. He wanted stability and control. He wanted a business he believed could withstand changing economic conditions. Something Amazon couldn't replace. Something people would continue to need through recessions and unexpected events like COVID. And he loved the environmental mission behind The Junkluggers and its approach to keeping reusable items out of landfills. Five years later, Andrew has built exactly what he was looking for: something of his own. Has everything gone according to plan? Of course not. That's business ownership. One of the biggest unexpected changes came when Authority Brands acquired The Junkluggers from its founder. Andrew and Kim discuss what it's actually like for a franchisee when the company you originally invested in changes ownership—including both the advantages and challenges that can come with becoming part of a larger franchise organization. It's an important conversation because when you buy a franchise, you're investing in a future—not just the company that exists on the day you sign your agreement. Leadership can change. Companies can be acquired. Strategies evolve. Markets change. And the owner has to evolve, too. Andrew says there are absolutely things he'd do differently if he started again. But would he do it again? Definitely. Because franchise ownership has given him far more than a business. He's developed new skills. He's learned about himself. He's built relationships with other franchisees he can turn to for advice and support. He's become deeply connected to his local Chamber of Commerce and business community. Some customers have even become friends. And through the environmental mission of his business, Andrew gets to do good in his community while building something that belongs to him. This isn't a story about entrepreneurship being easy. It's a story about what stability can actually mean. Maybe stability isn't knowing your employer will never lay you off. Maybe it's developing the skills, relationships, community, confidence, and business that give you greater influence over what happens next. If you've experienced a layoff, are considering a career transition, or are wondering whether franchise ownership could give you greater control over your future, this is a refreshingly real conversation about what five years of ownership actually looks like. IN THIS EPISODE ✔️ What repeated corporate layoffs taught Andrew about "job security" ✔️ Why he began exploring franchise ownership ✔️ Starting a business as COVID changed the world ✔️ Why he wanted an Amazon-proof and recession-resistant business ✔️ What attracted him to The Junkluggers ✔️ What five years of franchise ownership have really been like ✔️ What happens to franchisees when their franchisor is acquired ✔️ Andrew's perspective on the Authority Brands acquisition ✔️ The pros and cons of becoming part of a larger franchise organization ✔️ Wha...

3 Reasons Your Franchise Isn't Making You Wealthy

Why do some franchise owners work incredibly hard but still never create the wealth, freedom, or life they thought business ownership would provide? After 25 years in franchising, I've learned that owning a franchise and building wealth through a franchise are two very different things. Your franchise is the vehicle. But you're still the driver. In this episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, I'm breaking down three reasons your franchise may not be making you wealthy—and none of them require blaming your franchise system. 1. You haven't defined what "wealthy" actually means. You cannot move intentionally toward a destination you haven't defined. What did you buy your franchise to create? More income? Time freedom? Multiple locations? An asset you can eventually sell? Security for your family? Complete control over your future? "I want to make more money" isn't a vision. Vision creates order. Order creates clarity. And clarity creates more effective action. 2. You haven't created true consistency. Busy is not the same as productive. And consistency doesn't mean blindly doing the same thing over and over hoping something eventually changes. Business owners have to learn the difference between staying the course and simply moving papers. We also have to own something most business conversations completely ignore: Who are you being while you're taking the action? Your attitude matters. Your certainty matters. Your leadership matters. Your customers and employees don't just hear what you say. They experience the person saying it. Two people can use the same script, follow the same franchise system, and create completely different results. That's why ownership requires more than action. Ownership requires personal growth. 3. You're not willing to grow into the owner your vision requires. Here's something most people don't realize when they buy a franchise: You probably never wanted a franchise. You wanted what you believed business ownership could create. ✓ Freedom. ✓ Wealth. ✓ Purpose. ✓ Control. ✓ Choice. The franchise is simply the vehicle you chose to get there. But freedom isn't included in Item 7. You don't invest Item 7, turn the key, and automatically receive Item 19. Your franchise gives you an opportunity. Who you become while building it determines what you're able to create with that opportunity. Business ownership may require you to become more confident, more resilient, more disciplined, a stronger leader, a better salesperson, more comfortable with uncertainty, and willing to grow beyond the person you were when you started. That's why I believe business ownership is one of the greatest personal-development journeys you'll ever take. The question isn't only: What do I need to DO differently? Sometimes the much more powerful question is: Who do I need to BECOME? Ready for Your Next Step? If you're ready to define what wealth means to you and explore franchise opportunities that align with the life you want to create, I'm your franchise consultant. If you already own a franchise and want to learn how to build greater wealth by developing the person operating the business, I'm your mindset coach. How to Build a Semi-Active Business (The Right Way)

Can you really own a franchise while keeping your full-time job? Yes. But this episode will give you a much more realistic picture of what semi-active franchise ownership can actually require. In this episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, Kim Daly sits down with Jonathan Watts and Amie Boulineau, Bumble Bee Blinds franchise owners in Fleming Island, Florida, for a candid conversation about building a franchise while Jonathan was still working his W-2 job. Jonathan was successful in manufacturing sales. Amie had built a career in real estate. They weren't running away from failure—they were looking for something more: Control. Control over their income. Control over their time. Control over their future. They initially began looking at established businesses for sale, stumbled across an advertisement for a pool-cleaning franchise, connected with a franchise consultant, and eventually discovered franchising. But Jonathan wasn't ready to immediately walk away from his paycheck. Working remotely gave him flexibility, and he believed he could manage both. And he did. But it was a LOT. From March through July 2025, Jonathan structured his days around selling blinds, managing the growing franchise, and fulfilling the responsibilities of his full-time corporate job. Early mornings. Between meetings. After hours. He was burning the candle at both ends. Their original plan was to operate this way much longer, but after several grueling months, Jonathan made the decision to leave his W-2 job and go all-in on Bumble Bee Blinds. That's when something interesting happened. The business was already doing well and approaching their goals. But once Jonathan became fully engaged, they quickly hit—and then exceeded—those goals. And business ownership became a lot more fun. This is why I wanted to have this conversation. Semi-active franchise ownership is one of the most misunderstood and sometimes oversimplified conversations in franchising. Can it be done? Absolutely. But WHO is doing it? What does your existing job demand? How flexible is your schedule? Who is operating the business when you're unavailable? What does the franchise actually require from its owner? And how long are you realistically prepared to carry both? Jonathan gives his perspective from someone who actually did it—not from a brochure or sales presentation. Then the conversation takes an even deeper turn. Jonathan and Amie joined The Zee Suite®, and in their words, the experience has helped save their business—and their relationship. They became clearer about what they wanted to create. They stopped reacting to every circumstance around them and became more intentional about where they focused their attention. Through mindset work, prayer, greater clarity, and focused action, they identified marketing opportunities that began filling their calendar. Most importantly, they developed greater certainty in themselves and their business. In just 6–8 weeks inside The Zee Suite®, Jonathan and Amie describe creating a dramatically different experience and different results than they had during the previous year. Same franchise. Same owners. But a different way of thinking, leading, and operating. They bought a franchise and received systems, tools, training, and support. But they discovered that those things alone weren't everything they needed to become successful business owners. This is why mindset is so much more than positive thinking. It's about becoming the owner capable of creating the business—and life—you actually bought the franchise to create. If y...

The Next Mission: One Veteran's Story of Reinventing Yourself after Military Service

What happens when your military career ends...but your greatest mission is still ahead of you? In this inspiring episode of Create Wealth Through Franchising, Kim Daly sits down with Marine veteran Ken Schoonover to discuss the journey from military service to business ownership—and why success in franchising has far less to do with the business you choose than the person you become while building it. Ken opens by sharing one of his very first missions as a young Marine, leading ten men through Japan without speaking the language. It was an experience that demanded leadership, adaptability, problem-solving, and trust under pressure. Years later, he realized those same qualities would become some of his greatest assets as a franchise owner. After exploring franchising for several years and speaking with multiple franchise consultants, Ken met Kim Daly. Kim gave him one condition: "If we're going to work together, I need to be your only consultant." She wasn't interested in competing for his attention. She was interested in helping him find the right opportunity through clarity, alignment, and trust. As a committed Christian, Ken immediately connected with Kim's perspective on mindset, faith, purpose, and possibility. While exploring franchise opportunities, he also joined The Zee Suite® during the original Suite Deal, where the lessons on mindset, goal setting, and personal leadership began changing the way he approached both business and life. One book, in particular, tied everything together: The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. What began as one of Kim's favorite books soon became one of Ken's. It helped him realize something every entrepreneur eventually faces: The greatest obstacle to success wasn't the market...or the franchise...it was his own comfort. Like many new business owners, Ken discovered he enjoyed doing the work. But building wealth required something different. It required becoming comfortable being uncomfortable. His military training reminded him that growth has always lived on the other side of uncertainty. Ken also shares why he ultimately chose Paint EZ—not because he dreamed of owning a painting company, but because he fell in love with the people. Their culture. Their leadership. Their values. Their mission. He discovered what Kim has taught for more than two decades: Franchising is a people business. You aren't simply investing in a business model. You're choosing a team you'll build your future alongside. The episode also explores one of the most overlooked parts of entrepreneurship: Spousal alignment. Ken and Michelle openly discuss the conversations, questions, and trust required before making a decision that impacts an entire family. Together, they demonstrate the power of moving forward with shared vision instead of fear. Whether you're a veteran transitioning into civilian life, a professional considering business ownership, or someone searching for greater purpose after one successful career, this conversation offers hope, wisdom, and practical lessons for your next chapter. If you're exploring franchise ownership—or already own a franchise and want to become the leader your business needs—Kim would love to help. In this episode you'll learn: ✔️ Why military leadership translates so well to franchise ownership ✔️ The importance of choosing people and culture—not just a business ✔️ How faith, mindset, and personal growth create stronger business owners ✔️ Why spousal alignment matters before investing in a franchise ✔️ How The Strangest Secret helped transform Ken's thinking ✔️ Why comfort is often the greatest obstacle to success ✔️ The role The Zee Suite® played in helping Ken prepare...
