In September of 2000, Tyler was nearing the end of his two-year mission in Puebla, Mexico, when an unexpected accident changed everything. After his vehicle broke down on a highway, Tyler was struck by a car traveling approximately 80 miles per hour. The impact threw him hundreds of feet, resulted in the loss of his left leg below the knee, and left him fighting for his life. After being placed on life support, spending days in a coma, and undergoing approximately 36 surgeries, Tyler woke up in a hospital in Mexico City to discover that his life would never be the same. Throughout the episode, Tyler shares what it was like to wake up without knowing what had happened, the emotional and physical challenges of losing a limb, and how his faith in God became the foundation of his recovery. He opens up about the incredible support he received from his family, fellow missionaries, and the people of Mexico, and why returning to finish his mission meant so much to him.
