    THIS ESCALATED QUICKLY

It’s a Best of Billified, which means we went digging through the archives and found some conversations that probably should’ve stayed buried. Doug proves he actually has a heart before immediately trying to recruit unsuspecting yoga moms for a game involving phrases you definitely won’t find at family game night. From there, somehow we get to B-list friends, life in The Villages, swingers with a “hotness” requirement, the uncomfortable realities of getting older and Mark learning to embrace the cane. Then there’s Bachelor in Paradise and the woman who hasn’t pooped in nine days—which naturally sends Bill and the boys down a horrifying rabbit hole of bathroom anxiety, Bills stadium troughs, legendary bowel movements and one college story that should never be told near a baseball diamond. And just when things get surprisingly thoughtful—with gratitude, aging, friendship, fear and appreciating the simple ability to move through life—Brandy shows up and sends the entire conversation directly into the gutter. Funny. Filthy. Occasionally thoughtful. Completely unpredictable. In other words… Billified. Get Your Pod On! Brother Wease: More Than a Survivor

This isn't really an interview with Brother Wease. It's two guys who spent a whole lot of years in radio finally sitting down and talking about the stuff that didn't always make it through the microphone. Bill welcomes Rochester radio legend Brother Wease for a conversation that goes everywhere—and somehow lands exactly where it needs to. Vietnam. Three marriages. Five kids. Cancer. Parkinson's. Getting older. Getting hated on the internet. The insanity of radio. The people you love. The things you lose. And what happens when you've spent most of your life saying exactly what you think and suddenly have enough road behind you to understand what actually mattered. Wease talks about surviving Vietnam, why he went back, stumbling into radio without ever really knowing how to "do radio," raising his kids while living his life on the air, facing cancer, dealing with hearing loss and Parkinson's, and why—after all of it—he still considers himself lucky. Wease talks about surviving Vietnam, why he went back, stumbling into radio without ever really knowing how to "do radio," raising his kids while living his life on the air, facing cancer, dealing with hearing loss and Parkinson's, and why—after all of it—he still considers himself lucky. Funny. Raw. Occasionally inappropriate. Surprisingly emotional. Two old radio guys. No format. No b******t. Just a hell of a conversation about one hell of a life. Get Your Pod On. Sometimes the Police Aren’t There to Arrest You

What if most of what cops actually do…isn’t really about crime? Sergeant Brendan Hurley of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office climbs aboard the Pirate Ship for a funny, surprisingly honest look at what it’s really like to wear the uniform in 2026. Forget the press conferences and cop shows. We’re talking mental health calls, domestic disputes, teenagers, social media, parenting, body cameras, 911 calls—and the bizarre reality that sometimes a deputy shows up and basically becomes a therapist, mediator, life coach and referee all at once. Yes, apparently cops have helped couples negotiate everything from pizza toppings to who gets the remote. Bill and Brendan also get into the serious stuff: why mental health has become such a huge part of policing, what officers carry home after seeing people on the worst days of their lives, why boundaries matter with kids, how social media has changed childhood, and the simple power of letting another human being feel heard. Plus: regulated mustaches, Bill's questionable parenting memories, why filming someone's worst moment might not make you the citizen journalist you think it does, and proof that sometimes the biggest crisis isn't solved with handcuffs. It’s funny. It gets uncomfortable. And underneath all of it is one pretty important question: When somebody is having the worst day of their life, what do they actually need from the person who shows up? Get Your Pod On. We Were Better Before Everything Had Receipts

Kevin made moonshine. That probably tells you everything you need to know about where this episode is headed. Kevin, Laura, Mark the Soldier and Bill are in the studio, and somehow homemade apple-pie rocket fuel turns into a full-blown examination of Rochester’s greatest cultural divide: East Side vs. West Side. Wine tastings vs. moonshine. Imported cars vs. muscle cars. Book smarts vs. street smarts. And the important question nobody was asking: could you tell which side of Monroe County you were on while blindfolded? Then things get deeper. What do you miss from 20 or 30 years ago that you’re almost afraid to admit you miss? Being unreachable? Saying something stupid without it becoming part of your permanent digital record? Comedy before everyone had a camera, a screenshot and a reason to be pissed? That opens the door to cancel culture, second chances, workplace boundaries, consent, porn, dating in the age of Google and whether technology has made us safer—or just made damn sure nobody ever gets to forget anything. Then Laura reveals the younger guy who waited for a very specific birthday before making his move, which leads to the question: does everybody have a price? And because this is Billified, somehow we still have time for AI songs, Mark being perpetually butthurt and a Freedom Roofing edition of Name That Tune that proves knowing a song and actually knowing the damn song are two very different things. t’s inappropriate. Surprisingly thoughtful. Occasionally filthy. And exactly the kind of conversation you probably shouldn’t have at work. You Get Older. You Don’t Feel Older

What happens when the Class of ’69 gets back together 57 years later? Apparently, you laugh about the same stupid stuff… you just need a little more time to get out of the chair. Bill sits down at his home with his Mom for a conversation about getting older without necessarily feeling older, friendships that somehow survive decades, why movement matters, the strange things we’re afraid of as we age—and why a sense of humor might be one of the best survival skills we’ve got. They get into gratitude, the mind-body connection, death, dementia, old friends, new friends, letting go of anger, and why holding onto the past usually hurts the person doing the holding. Along the way there’s Reiki, Catholic school, wine, football, Hells Angels, questionable bathroom etiquette and the realization that at 18 you stay up until 2 a.m. because you’re having fun. At 80, you’re up at 2 a.m. because something hurts. Funny, honest, occasionally inappropriate and surprisingly thoughtful, this is a conversation about aging that really becomes a conversation about living. Because maybe the goal isn’t staying young. Maybe it’s staying in the damn game. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/billified-the-bill-moran-podcast--5738193/support.
