When Did Constant Surveillance Become Normal?

In Episode 34 of Conspiracy Dad, we're talking about something that's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore:   There are cameras everywhere.   Flock license plate readers are popping up across the country. Our phones know where we are. Doorbell cameras watch the neighborhood. Cars are covered in sensors. Facial recognition keeps getting better. And somewhere along the way, we've gotten remarkably comfortable with the idea that almost everything we do in public can be recorded, stored, searched, and potentially connected to everything else.   So... when did this become normal?   We dig into the growing debate surrounding Flock cameras, the Fourth Amendment, and what "privacy" even means in a world that would have been technologically unimaginable when most of us were kids.   Nobody had to repeal the Fourth Amendment. Technology may have simply changed the world around it.   And that raises some uncomfortable questions.   How much surveillance are we willing to accept in exchange for safety and convenience?   Does it matter if nobody is actively watching the cameras when a searchable record of our movements can still exist?   And at what point does a network of individually reasonable technologies become a surveillance system none of us ever actually agreed to build?   Joining us for this conversation is our good friend "Kokomo," an experienced pilot whose real identity we're keeping under wraps because he'd prefer to continue receiving a paycheck.   And since you can't put a pilot in a room with the Conspiracy Dads without eventually looking toward the sky, we also get into UFOs, aviation, strange things pilots see, and plenty of the usual rabbit holes that somehow make perfect sense while we're recording.   Flock cameras. Privacy. The Fourth Amendment. UFOs. Government surveillance. Technology.   Just another perfectly normal conversation between dads.
