    Camping Costs Nothing

    Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review In this week's show, Ade and Tim stand accused of arguing that Camping Costs Nothing. Listener and friend of the show, Thom, has written a detailed and thorough report examining the use of the word 'Nothing' in relation to cost, weight and occupied space. He argues that nothing does in fact cost, weigh and occupy something. Furthermore, he proposes that on occasion, nothing can be expensive, heavy and take up a considerable amount of space in the car. Sometimes resulting in the need to purchase a van or trailer, which also costs more than nothing. Ade and Tim counter this report with their usual 'Casual' style of banter that you've come to expect.     Brooklyn Grange Farm

    Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review This week Ade and Tim have got out into the camping field on Brooklyn Grange Farm. This campsite is on a working dairy farm with an incredible farm shop run by a mother and daughter duo.  They didn't experience the site at it's most glorious as it was raining pretty much the whole time across the three days, but it takes more than a bit of rain to put are two intrepid Casual Campers off. Listen in for some top tips of how to cope when the rain starts falling so that the next time this happens to you your spirits aren't dampened, only your crisps.     Fire Warning

    Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review This week we focus on an incredibly important topic for everyone enjoying the great outdoors: fire safety during the current hot and extremely dry conditions. With campsites, farmland and countryside under significant pressure from the ongoing heatwave, we discuss why campers need to be extra cautious when using anything that involves a naked flame. Whether it's campfires, fire pits, stoves, BBQs or fireworks, now is the time to put safety first and think carefully before lighting anything outdoors. Tim shares a personal account from close to home, where wildfires broke out yesterday. Tragically, several homes were destroyed and many acres of farmland were lost as the fires spread rapidly through the dry landscape. It's a stark reminder of just how quickly a small spark can become a major incident. During the recording of the show, a national emergency alert sounded on mobile phones across the country, warning of the heightened fire risk and making it clear that fires, fireworks and BBQs were prohibited nationally. It was a dramatic moment that perfectly underlined the importance of the conversation Tim and Ade were having.
