Her podcast, Investies, tackles real-money topics, demystifies investing, and explores crucial areas like the stock market, money management, and the impact of interest rates on personal finances. Linda’s work advocates for financial independence, championing equity and representation for all, especially immigrants and marginalized communities. Through her podcast and advocacy, Linda tackles the intersection of financial education, the economy, and geopolitics, helping diverse communities build wealth and secure their place in today’s financial landscape. Linda unpacks capital gains–what they are, and how investors can use them to their advantage. She also discusses how investors use taxes on capital gains to their advantage. As you probably know already, folks who are farther along their financial journeys and have been investing for years are well aware of how to make capital gains work for them come tax season. That said–many of the wealthiest investors use capital gains as something akin to a tax loophole. As a part of her presidential campaign, Vice President Harris is proposing a tax policy aimed at the ultra wealthy, who have been exploiting capital gains for some time. This would also relieve the tax burden of the rest of us somewhat.  There are so many ways to make the stock market work for you as you gain more experience as an investor. Q3: Shareholder Superpowers Part 2: Voice — How to Make a Company Answer You

Voting is powerful — but it only happens once a year. So what do you do the other 364 days? In Part 2 of our three-part "Shareholder Superpowers" series, Linda hands you the tools to plug into a company like you're on the inside: the Investor Relations department whose literal job is to answer investors, the quarterly earnings calls you can listen to for free (the same calls Wall Street analysts are on), and the SEC filings — the 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K — where the real, legally-verified numbers live. None of it costs a dollar. Almost nobody uses it. We also cover the one shareholder superpower that's currently in danger. Qualifying shareholders can put their own idea on the ballot under SEC Rule 14a-8 — a rule whose predecessor dates back to 1942 — but the SEC has stopped refereeing the process, a December 2025 executive order directed the agency to consider rescinding the rule, and the SEC's own chairman has publicly questioned whether it should exist. Corporate law firms are already writing memos about a "post-Rule 14a-8 world." We lay out the case for repeal and the case against it, and let you decide. Market open: the Iran ceasefire collapsed, oil jumped about 7%, and the Dow gave back an all-time record it had just set on Monday — while the S&P and Nasdaq finished the week green. One red index, two green, and a lesson in why "the market" is not one thing. Plus: the Fed is stuck (and its own dot plot now leans toward a hike, not a cut), and earnings season kicks off with five of the biggest U.S. banks reporting. Your homework this week: pick ONE company reporting earnings, and listen to fifteen minutes of the call. You won't understand every word. That's not the point. The point is that you sat in the room.
