    Beyond the GLP-1: What’s Your Long-Term Plan? - Part 1

GLP-1 medications have completely changed the conversation around weight loss, metabolic health, and chronic disease. But whether you’re considering one, currently taking one, planning to stay on long-term, or wondering how you’ll ever come off... what’s the actual plan? We’re joined again by Dr. Sheila Saltzman, physical therapist, exercise physiologist, and functional medicine practitioner, for a conversation that goes far beyond the number on the scale. And this one gets personal. We share our own very different experiences with semaglutide and tirzepatide, including side effects, weight loss, inflammation, chronic disease management, cost, going off and restarting, and the complicated question of what “success” actually looks like. Sheila walks us through why she believes the medication itself shouldn’t be the entire strategy and what she considers when helping patients build a longer-term roadmap.  We talk food noise, muscle loss, protein, blood sugar, gut health, sleep, hormones, strength training, and what may happen when someone transitions off a GLP-1. We also get into something bigger: why getting comprehensive healthcare can feel increasingly like a privilege and what it means to advocate for yourself within a fragmented medical system. 🔑 What You’ll Hear in This Episode Our personal experiences with semaglutide, tirzepatide and Zepbound Why some people may stay on GLP-1 medications long-term while others want an exit strategy What “food noise” actually feels like Why weight alone may not be the best measure of success Gut health and GLP-1 side effects Why protein, fiber and regular eating patterns matter The importance of protecting and building muscle Why Sheila recommends planning ahead before transitioning off medication The difference between GLP-1 medications and combined GIP/GLP-1 medications Hormones, sleep, blood sugar and metabolism Labs and health markers Sheila considers with her patients Why “calories in, calories out” doesn't tell the whole story Functional medicine vs. conventional medicine Building a healthcare team and advocating for yourself The uncomfortable reality of who has access to comprehensive care One of the biggest takeaways comes during the conversation about hunger returning when someone stops medication: “This is physiology, not failure.” And if transitioning off is part of the plan, Sheila recommends thinking about it well before the last dose, describing an eight-to-twelve-week planning window in which she works with patients on factors like protein, fiber, muscle mass, sleep, body composition and other lifestyle factors.  Dr. Sheila Saltzman is a physical therapist, exercise physiologist, and functional medicine practitioner with more than 25 years of experience. Her holistic approach incorporates nutrition, lifestyle, stress management, functional medicine, and movement to help patients explore the root causes of chronic health concerns.  Website: mindfulhealthslo.com Email: sheila@mindfulhealthslo.com She primarily works with patients via telehealth and also sees patients in California and Portland.  🌱 Want to surround yourself with ambitious, authentic women who get it? The Recommitment Reset: What’s Working, Your Why & Who You Want to Serve - Part 2

Feeling disconnected from your business doesn’t always mean something is wrong. Sometimes, it means it’s time to look at what you’ve built, notice what’s actually working, and decide what you want next. We’re continuing our Recommitment Reset with a practical exercise you can use anytime you feel unmotivated, stuck, disconnected, or simply ready to be more intentional about your business and life. This isn’t just an end-of-summer or New Year reset. It’s a tool for any season when you need to reconnect with what you’re building and why. We start with something ambitious women often skip: acknowledging what’s already good. We talk about gratitude, time flexibility, family, team support, financial growth, and the things our businesses have made possible that we may have stopped noticing. Then we refresh our WHY based on the lives we’re building today, not simply the reasons we started our businesses years ago. We dig into what success looks like in this season, the importance of meaningful work, financial goals, family flexibility, and becoming connectors and resources within our communities. Finally, we rethink our WHO. Who are the clients and people we genuinely love working with? What do they have in common? And what would happen if we intentionally built our businesses to attract more of them? This is your permission to stop blindly chasing the next goal and ask a better question: Is the business I’m building actually supporting the life I want? Why a business reset should start with what’s already working How gratitude can change the way you evaluate your success The difference between time freedom and time flexibility Why we refuse to pretend family commitments are “appointments” How to redefine success for your current season of life Refreshing your WHY as your life, family, and goals evolve Why meaningful work and financial success can coexist How constantly moving the goalpost keeps high achievers from recognizing their progress Identifying the clients you genuinely love working with Why trust, respect, preparedness, and a little humor make client relationships better Creating a clearer ideal-client avatar based on your actual experience Building a business that allows you to show up as a whole human One of our favorite reminders from this conversation: the goal isn’t necessarily a life where you have endless free time. It’s having enough flexibility and intention to build work around the things and people that matter to you. We created a worksheet to help you actually work through these questions instead of listening, feeling inspired for 20 minutes, and immediately returning to your regularly scheduled chaos. Use it anytime you need to reconnect with your business, your goals, your people, and the life you’re trying to create. Reach out to us for the Recommitment Reset Worksheet. How to Get Your Motivation Back: Recommit Without the Hustle - Part 2

Coming back after summer, vacation, burnout, a family-heavy season, or simply a stretch where work took a backseat can feel surprisingly hard. Instead of trying to jump right back into the version of your business you were running before, we’re using the transition as an opportunity to ask a better question: What do I actually want this next season to look like? We’re walking through an intentional reset for ambitious women, entrepreneurs, business owners, and working moms who are ready to rebuild momentum without immediately defaulting to hustle. We talk about refreshing your why, redefining who you want to serve, choosing what actually matters in this season, auditing how you work, and creating a business that supports the life you want to live. And maybe most importantly, we talk about what not to start doing again. Why getting back into a routine can feel harder than expected How to refresh your “why” as your life and priorities change Why you need to redefine your ideal client instead of trying to serve everyone Choosing 1 to 3 priorities for your next season Auditing your systems, habits, workload, and delegation Creating a “don’t start again” list Defining your minimums for hard or busy seasons Maintenance mode vs. normal mode vs. growth mode Removing friction before demanding more discipline from yourself A simple 10-10-10 relationship reset Using a two-week intentional sprint to rebuild momentum Building your business around your life, instead of your life around your business You don’t need to come out of every slower season ready to hustle. Start where you are. Decide where you want to go. Then build the rhythm that gets you there. And stay tuned. We’re going deeper into these strategies in upcoming episodes and creating a worksheet to help you actually work through your own intentional reset. When Life Hits Hard: How to Keep Going Without Losing Yourself - Part 2

What happens when you’re an entrepreneur, leader, working mom, or high-achieving woman and life simply does not care about your to-do list? We’re talking about what it actually looks like to keep a business and family moving during hard seasons. From family challenges and working-mom guilt to summer childcare chaos, burnout, delegation, and the pressure to keep showing up, we’re getting into the messy middle that rarely makes it onto Instagram. We also talk about why building systems isn’t just a productivity strategy. It creates space for real life. Your business should be able to function when you need to step away, and that means learning to delegate even when someone else won't do it exactly the way you would. And on the days when you don't have the capacity for a massive win? Do something small that moves you forward. Consistency matters, even when the work doesn't produce an immediate result. We also unpack social media comparison, screen time, AI, raising kids in an increasingly digital world, and the importance of real, in-person community. Because despite what Instagram might suggest, nobody has everything figured out. We're all carrying something. 🔑 What You’ll Hear in This Episode: How to keep your business moving during difficult seasons of life Why systems and delegation matter beyond productivity The difference between owning a business and creating another job for yourself Working-mom guilt and navigating business alongside family priorities Why small actions still count when you don't have much capacity Planning today in ways your future self will thank you for Giving yourself, your team, and other people more grace Why social media success isn't always actual success The pressure of constant connectivity and our complicated relationship with our phones Using AI and technology to create more time instead of simply doing more work Building a business and life around your actual priorities Why ambitious women need real, in-person community ✨🌱 Want to surround yourself with ambitious, authentic women who get it?
