The Balance Between Joy and Growth. Why I Teach 2 Things That Seem to Contradict Each Other

In this episode, I'm diving into a question that my husband recently asked me... and it's one that gets to the heart of so much of the work I teach.  If our thoughts and feelings create our results... and we should intentionally focus on feeling better, thinking better thoughts, and creating more joy in our lives... then why do I also teach that growth requires discomfort? Which is it? In this episode, I break down two powerful philosophies that have shaped my own life and coaching. We explore the teachings of Abraham Hicks and the importance of alignment, appreciation, joy, and intentionally creating positive emotions. And we also explore the idea that lasting change, sustainable weight loss, emotional eating awareness, and personal growth often require us to be willing to feel uncomfortable emotions instead of avoiding them. I talk about why so many women struggle with consistency, self-sabotage, emotional eating, and following through on their goals... not because they don't know what to do, but because they are trying to avoid feelings like boredom, uncertainty, disappointment, or urges. This episode will help you understand how to use both concepts together. How to create a compelling vision for your future while also developing the emotional resilience to navigate the journey. Because permanent weight loss, confidence, self-trust, and creating a life you love aren't built through struggle alone... and they aren't built by avoiding discomfort either. They're built by learning when to lean into joy... and when to lean into courage. If you've ever felt stuck between wanting to feel good and wanting to grow, this episode will give you a completely new perspective on what it takes to create lasting results in your body and your life. ~Courtney Interested in working with me?  I currently support women in private coaching and inside my Aligned Life Membership... helping them create lasting changes in their eating, daily habits, mindset, confidence, and overall life.  Click HERE for all the details

    Becoming a Consistent Woman

In this episode, I’m talking about something so many women want more of... Consistency.  Not just being consistent when it comes to work, family, or taking care of everyone else... but being consistent with the things you truly want for yourself. Because if you’re like most women, it’s often your own goals, habits, health, and self-care that end up on the back burner. I share why consistency isn’t a willpower problem... it’s a thinking problem. We dive into the thoughts, patterns, and beliefs that keep us stuck in the cycle of starting and stopping, and why understanding those patterns is the first step toward creating lasting change. I also talk about the importance of having a strong enough "why," learning to stop waiting for the perfect time, and redefining what consistency actually looks like. Because consistency is not perfection. It’s learning how to keep showing up, even when life gets busy, even when you make mistakes, and even when it feels easier to quit. This episode is really about becoming the woman who follows through on what she truly desires... imperfectly, compassionately, and consistently. If you’re tired of starting over every Monday and ready to create a different relationship with yourself, this episode is for you. ~Courtney Interested in working with me?  I currently support women in private coaching and inside my Aligned Life Membership... helping them create lasting changes in their eating, daily habits, mindset, confidence, and overall life.  Click HERE for all the details

The Aligned Life Membership- You're Officially Invited!

In this episode, I’m finally sharing something I’ve been dreaming about creating for years... The Aligned Life Membership. Click Here to Join This membership was created for women who know they are capable of more... women who want to feel more in control of their eating, their habits, their emotions, and the direction of their life. Because real change doesn’t happen from motivation alone. It happens through practice, repetition, support, self-awareness, and learning how to keep going... even when life gets hard. In this episode, I walk you through exactly why I created this membership, who it’s for, and what you’ll experience inside of it. We talk about becoming the next version of yourself... creating aligned habits... learning how to manage your mind... building self-trust... and creating consistency in a way that actually feels sustainable. I also share how this idea came to me after years of writing about it in my manifestation journal... and why I finally knew it was time. Inside the membership, women will have access to weekly coaching calls with me, brand-new courses, a private podcast feed of all coaching replays, monthly focuses, and a supportive community of women doing this work together. This is about so much more than weight loss. It’s about becoming a woman who feels aligned with the life she truly wants to create. A woman who trusts herself. A woman who follows through. A woman who knows she is capable of more... and finally starts living like it.

Emotional Eating- Sometimes It's Deeper Than You Think. My first conversation about trauma and how it might be keeping you stuck.

A few weeks ago, I talked about how emotional eating sometimes isn’t that deep. But in this episode, I want to explore the other side of it. Because sometimes... it actually is.  I share what I’ve seen over and over again with clients who are making progress, feeling good, and creating real change in their lives... only to suddenly hit resistance when they start becoming more visible, more confident, or more aligned with the version of themselves they truly want to be. We talk about how past experiences, trauma, or even smaller moments from our past can quietly shape the way we respond to growth, attention, success, and discomfort. And how sometimes, the body reacts before we can even identify a thought. This episode is really about learning how to recognize when your nervous system might be trying to keep you “safe” by keeping you small, stuck, or disconnected from your goals. I also talk about the importance of therapy, creating safety within yourself, and learning how to sit with discomfort long enough to move toward the life you actually want. Because healing isn’t always about staying focused on the past. Sometimes it’s about realizing that you are safe now... and allowing yourself to grow from that place. The Voice in Your Head isn't Always the Real YOU.

I’m sharing a very real, behind-the-scenes look at what this work actually looks like in everyday life...especially during stressful moments, emotional situations, and unexpected circumstances.  I am giving you a peek into my mind, and going into detail with the thoughts that are offered up to me during a very stressful 24 hours. Thoughts that sounded completely reasonable in the moment. “You deserve this.”  “It’s been a hard day.”  “It doesn’t matter today.”  “You should just take the day off.” And what I want to show you in this episode is how often those thoughts are simply your primitive brain trying to pull you toward comfort, pleasure, and immediate relief. Not because something has gone wrong… but because that’s what the brain does. This episode is really about learning how to separate yourself from those thoughts so you can stop reacting automatically and start making choices from the version of you you actually want to become. I walk you through real examples of what this looks like in the moment, from food decisions to movement to emotional stress...and how I navigate those conversations internally without shame, perfectionism, or feeling deprived. Because the goal isn’t to never have urges, cravings, or self-sabotaging thoughts. The goal is to stop believing every thought you think. Emotional Eating- Sometimes it's Not That Deep

In this episode, I’m talking about something that might surprise you when it comes to emotional eating. Sometimes… it’s not that deep. I share a theme I’ve been seeing with several clients lately—where they assume something bigger must be going on, when in reality, it’s often much simpler than that.  We tend to associate emotional eating with big emotions like stress, anxiety, or frustration. But what I want to offer is that it can also come from much lighter, more subtle emotions that are easy to overlook. Things like boredom, hesitation, doubt, or even just a slight sense of discomfort. This episode is about learning how to recognize those moments....especially the ones that show up when you’re about to follow through with something you said you would do. Because often, those emotions don’t even surface until you stop distracting yourself. I also walk you through the difference between escaping emotions and avoiding them, and why that matters if you want to feel more in control of your eating and your habits. This is really about simplifying the process. Not making it more complicated than it needs to be… and realizing that sometimes the thing getting in your way isn’t a deep-rooted issue, it’s just a moment of discomfort you haven’t learned how to sit with yet. If you’ve ever felt like emotional eating doesn’t fully apply to you—but you’re still not where you want to be....this episode will help you start to see what might actually be going on. Enjoy!
