Entering The Chat: Are Internal Exams Necessary For Pelvic Floor Therapy?

We’re entering the chat: Is the internal exam necessary to assess the pelvic floor? There has been a lot of buzz on social media and arguments between pelvic floor therapists on whether or not internal exams are necessary (especially within the past few weeks). So we’re here today to give our stance on this. The fact that this is even a discussion begs the question: what is the greater purpose of calling into question the gold standard assessment tool of a healthcare practice that has been through the ringer to advocate for women’s healthcare access, quality of care, and improved outcomes.  Listen in and let us know what you think in the comments, pelvic freaks Podcast referenced in this episode for more information regarding this topic: https://open.spotify.com/show/77XnQP7jf6Z49XDOX25ZFE?si=674e6d7adcba4b9d Have a question or story?
