99: What If You Started Expecting Good Things to Happen?

What would happen if you started expecting the best instead of preparing for the worst? In this episode of Meet Me in the Penthouse, Amy and Molly fly solo to explore The Art of Expectation—and why the way we anticipate the future can dramatically change the way we experience the present. The conversation begins with one of the funniest examples imaginable: their parents traveling to Las Vegas to watch Nebraska volleyball. Their mother has somehow developed a remarkable expectation that she'll end up on the big screen at Husker events—and somehow, she keeps making it happen. On this particular trip, she even ended up photographed with the entire Nebraska volleyball team on her 81st birthday. But underneath the story is a serious lesson. Amy and Molly challenge the tendency to immediately jump to the worst-case scenario. Travel delays, missed opportunities, difficult conversations, business challenges—we often prepare ourselves for what could go wrong before considering what could go right. Their parents approach those same situations differently. Even when travel doesn't go perfectly, they look for the opportunity inside the inconvenience. A delay becomes a chance to meet someone. A "no" becomes a reason to make the next call. A setback doesn't have to mean the story is over. Amy and Molly encourage listeners to ask a simple question: Where can you expect something good to happen today? Because expectations aren't about believing everything will go perfectly. They're about choosing what you're going to look for. And sometimes, the best things in life happen because you were willing to expect them. 98: You Don't Have to Stay in a Life That No Longer Fits

What happens when you realize the life you've built isn't the life you want to keep living? In this episode of Meet Me in the Penthouse, Amy and Molly sit down with their new friend Julie Seidl, a corporate confidence coach who made one of the biggest pivots imaginable: she walked away from her corporate career, built her own coaching business, separated from her business partner, and discovered something incredibly powerful along the way—she could do it herself. Julie began her career in marketing, branding, and PR before climbing the corporate ladder. But after years of watching talented people get promoted into leadership positions without ever being taught how to actually lead, she decided to build the training she wished she'd received herself. She went through years of notebooks, pulled together the questions and lessons she'd collected throughout her career, and created her own leadership programs. But entrepreneurship wasn't the only transformation Julie experienced. Julie opens up about some of the most difficult chapters of her life, including struggles with an eating disorder and alcoholism beginning at a young age, eventually choosing rehabilitation at 24 years old. She shares the moment in treatment when another patient forced her to realize that addiction doesn't discriminate—and that she needed to take her recovery seriously. Nearly eighteen years into sobriety, Julie now uses those experiences to help other people understand what's underneath their behavior. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in getting to the "why" behind people's reactions, recognizing the experiences that shaped them, and helping them move forward rather than simply treating the symptoms. The conversation also explores what happens when a business partnership ends, why some people are only meant to be in our lives for a season, and the moment Julie realized that she didn't need a partner to prove she could build something of her own. Then the conversation gets deeply personal. Julie shares how losing her father changed her understanding of faith and led her to look for something bigger than herself. She recalls a powerful moment involving a fire truck after his funeral—a moment she describes as one of those "God winks" that reminded her that the people we love can continue to shape us even after they're gone. And when Amy and Molly ask Julie what the Penthouse means to her, her answer turns the show's entire metaphor on its head: The Penthouse isn't a place where one person stands above everyone else. It's the table where everyone can sit together. Because sometimes reaching the top isn't about standing alone. It's about finally realizing there's room for everyone. 97: How to Build Confidence When You Don't Feel Confident

What if confidence doesn't come before action—but because of it? Amy and Molly take Meet Me in the Penthouse LIVE to Hurrdat Sports Bar for Confidence & Cocktails with Dr. Jamie Seeman, and this conversation gets real, funny, inspirational, and just a little tipsy. 🥂 Dr. Seeman is an OBGYN, former University of Nebraska softball player, fitness competitor, mother of three, author, and former contestant on NBC's The Titan Games. But behind the impressive résumé is a much more relatable story: a woman who repeatedly stepped into situations she wasn't sure she was ready for—and discovered that confidence came from doing the thing anyway. Jamie explains one of the biggest lessons she's learned through athletics, medicine, fitness, and motherhood: Confidence is built through action. She shares how walking onto Nebraska's softball team taught her to embrace whatever role the team needed, how getting waitlisted for medical school tested her confidence, and how returning to strength training helped her reconnect with a part of herself she had spent years trying to shrink. Then comes one of the wildest chapters of her story: The Titan Games. After a random suggestion from a scrub tech, Jamie applied for the NBC competition without telling almost anyone. Despite being only a year back into serious training, she made it through the selection process, received a call from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and eventually competed on the show—finishing in the top six and becoming an alternate for the finale. But Jamie's message isn't "become a professional athlete." It's much simpler: Show up. Do the work. Keep going. Because every time you do something uncomfortable, you create evidence that you can do hard things. Jamie also opens up about her book Hard to Kill, the importance of strength for women, the role of gratitude in her morning routine, and why she believes we should stop measuring our worth by wins and losses. Her book lays out five pillars of health: nutrition, movement, sleep, mindset/stress resilience, and environment. And when Amy and Molly ask Jamie what the Penthouse means to her, she delivers one of the episode's most powerful ideas: You are the author of your own life. You don't get to control how much time you're given—but you do get to decide what you do with it. 96: You Never Know Where One Decision Will Lead You

What if you took the leap before you knew exactly where it would lead? In this episode of Meet Me in the Penthouse, Amy and Molly sit down with Reem Rawashdeh, a wealth advisor, world traveler, and woman whose incredible journey has taken her from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan to the UK, Switzerland, Italy, and eventually Omaha, Nebraska. Reem's story is a reminder that some of life's biggest decisions don't come with a perfectly mapped-out plan. When she and her family decided to leave Italy, Omaha wasn't necessarily the obvious choice. But one longtime friendship, a ten-day visit, and a willingness to trust the next chapter ultimately brought her family to Nebraska. From there, Reem rebuilt her professional network, returned to wealth advising, and established herself in a traditionally male-dominated industry. She also shares why she believes women aren't necessarily "risk averse"—they're often risk aware—and why asking questions is an essential part of making confident financial decisions. The conversation also explores traveling alone, meeting new people, building relationships, financial confidence, raising financially capable children, and the surprising connections that can emerge when you're willing to walk into a room by yourself. And for anyone who has ever wondered whether they're making the "right" decision, Reem shares a powerful approach inspired by Tim Ferriss: fear-setting—looking honestly at what could go wrong, what your plan would be if it did, and realizing that the worst-case scenario may not be nearly as frightening as you imagined. By the end of the conversation, Reem offers her own definition of the Penthouse: The top of the mountain. The goal. The thing you're striving for—not necessarily something material, but whatever objective you're pursuing in your life. And maybe the biggest lesson of all? Sometimes you can't see how the streets connect until you look back from the Penthouse. 95: What If You Stopped Ignoring Your Inner Knowing?

What if you already know what you need to do—but you're waiting for someone else to give you permission? In this solo episode of Meet Me in the Penthouse, Amy and Molly dive into the idea of "knowing"—that inner voice that tells us when it's time to make a change, take a risk, leave something behind, or finally pursue the thing we've been putting off. The conversation centers around their She Knows journal, a 90-day guided experience created to help women trust themselves, make bold decisions, and take inspired action. But this episode goes far beyond the journal itself. Amy and Molly explore why we ignore our intuition, how perfectionism and outside opinions create noise, and why sometimes the clarity we're waiting for only comes after we're willing to step out in faith. Amy also shares her KNOWS framework: Know the Signal. Name the Truth. Observe the Noise. Walk in Knowing. Step Out in Faith. Together, Amy and Molly remind us that "knowing" doesn't always mean making a massive life-changing decision. Sometimes it's recognizing that you need help, ending something that isn't right for you, or simply taking the next small step you've been avoiding. And perhaps the biggest reminder of all: Your knowing is big enough. And you are enough. If you've been waiting for clarity, permission, or the "perfect" time to make a change, this conversation might be exactly what you need to hear. 📖 Resources She Knows Journal / Sisters Next Door She Knows Journal on Amazon A View from the Top 🏙️ Connect with Amy & Molly Sisters Next Door This is a Hurrdat ONE Production. Hurrdat ONE is a podcast network and digital media production company based in Omaha, NE.
