    MACROS Made Simple for Ladies Over 40

    1 Corinthians 10:31; So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”         Macronutrients or MACROS are the three nutrients your body needs most: Protein-Carbohydrates-Fat. Protein: -supports muscle-boosts fullness-stabilizes blood sugar-supports metabolism-- Most women are severely under-eating protein. Aim for: roughly 120–150g daily to start. Most women are going to need more than that but it’s a good starting point. Protein examples: chicken-eggs-Greek yogurt-cottage cheese-turkey-tuna-protein shakes Carbohydrates or carbs. Your brain needs carbs. Your body uses carbs for energy, they are VITAL to reaching your weight loss goals ladies. Supportive carbs: potatoes-fruit-rice-oats-sourdough bread-vegetables. Healthy Fat is our friend! They support hormone production and function. Examples: avocado-olive oil-nuts-salmon-nut butter--Fat is not the enemy! SIMPLE MACRO METHOD- At each meal: 1 palm protein (6-8 ounces) -1 fist carb -1/2 cup-healthy fat= 1/4 c for cheeses, avocado. 1 tsp for nut butters, oils, etc.-1 c vegetables 1c fruit. Aim for 4-5 meals to get started. Here’s an example of what a day can look like: Breakfast: -3-4 eggs-turkey sausage-1 c Berries or piece of whole grain toast with 1 tsp real butter. Lunch:-chicken salad-½ c Potatoes or quinoa-1 c veggies Snack:-Greek yogurt with honey and fruit-protein shake add a banana and 2 c spinach Dinner:-salmon-rice-green beans Proverbs 9:10 says: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Let the Spirit speak to you on these matters, He will settle your worry.  Holy Lord, thank You for the food You put on this beautiful Earth, thank You for farmers who sow and reap. Father, help me approach food with wisdom instead of fear, I have a lot to learn here Jesus, will you soften my heart as I learn a new way to fuel my body? I am nervous Lord, but I trust You more than what the world teaches. Teach me balance and stewardship as I start to fuel my body Father. Free me from confusion and diet culture, I am so tired of fearing the food that You’ve put on the Earth, help me to live a life of balance and gratitude for this body You have blessed me with. Help me to  nourish her as she deserves. In Jesus’ name, amen.     Why Nothing Seems to Work Over 40 (and What Actually Does)

    “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” — 3 John 1:2 Hard Truth -Your body changes after 40- Hormones shift. Muscle mass naturally decreases. Stress impacts weight more intensely.  The answer is not: starving yourself -detox teas-1200 calorie diets-excessive cardio -Fat loss after 40 requires muscle support -The goal should never be skinny or lighter on the scale, but toned, lean and flexible. These are the keys to a healthy life. That means: prioritizing protein-strength training-walking consistently-sleeping well-managing stress - Consistency beats intensity - Consistency is what changes your body. A simple plan repeated for months will outperform perfection for seven days. 3 Fixes: 1: Eat protein at every meal - Aim for 25–35 grams of protein.  Examples: eggs and turkey sausage-Greek yogurt and berries-chicken salad-cottage cheese-salmon --Protein helps preserve muscle, balance blood sugar, and keeps you full. Step 2: Walk daily - Working up to 8,000- Start with: 20–30 minutes daily- did you know that walking for 2 minutes after you eat helps regulate your blood sugar? Walking supports fat loss, hormones, blood sugar, and mood. Step 3: Stop restarting- You do not need another “all or nothing” plan.  Sustainable transformation often looks boring: protein-walking-sleep-strength training-consistency-renewing your mind- boring works.  Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating our bodies with wisdom and purpose. Help me stop chasing extremes and start walking in consistency, discipline and Holy Spirit led strength. Renew my mind where I’ve believed lies about my worth being in my weight of my size. Teach me to steward my health in a way that honors You Lord. And thank You for grace when I need it. Give me patience for lasting transformation, transformation in my life and thoughts that point me back to You Lord, that is the true transformation I yearn for. I want my life, my body, my choices to be a reflection of You alone Jesus. It’s in Your Most Holy Name I pray, Amen.  Action Step: Add protein to every meal & Walk 20 minutes daily.     You're Not Stuck - You're Avoiding the Hard Thing

    Proverbs 4:1 “Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching."  Proverbs 4:4; "Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth." Proverbs 4:12 "When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble. But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble." Proverbs 26-27; “Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil."  4 Ways Step towards God: STEP 1: IDENTIFY WHAT YOU’RE AVOIDING - Be honest.  STEP 2: DO THE HARD THING FIRST - Not later in the day. First. STEP 3: STOP WAITING FOR EASY - It’s not coming. If it were easy everyone would do it.  STEP 4: BUILD ONE HABIT - Every hard choice builds confidence.  What hard thing have you been avoiding? Name it. Then make a plan to start today. Today’s Action Step is to do the hard thing first.  Holy Father forgive me again. I come to You with a weary heart. I am so tired of making excuses and thinking I know everything, yet do nothing. Give me courage to face what I’ve been avoiding Lord. Help me to choose strength and growth over comfort. I have too much information in my head Lord, help me to forget it and focus on You and where You are leading me. Help me take action, even when it’s hard or doesn’t make sense.     Your Environment is Keeping You from Losing Weight

    1 Corinthians 15:32-34 “ What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.  Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.”   Romans 14:21, “:It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.” 4 Steps to Start: STEP 1: CLEAN YOUR ENVIRONMENT STEP 2: ADD SUPPORT STEP 3: CREATE DEFAULT HABITS STEP 4: PROTECT YOUR FOCUS If you keep surrounding yourself with triggers you’ll keep falling into the same patterns. This isn’t about restriction. It’s about wisdom and leaning into the Holy Spirit. It’s about honoring God with our choices and our bodies and teaching our families a different way to live. So, take a second to think; what in your environment needs to change? Write it down and ask the Lord to help you. He will. Pitch the food before your family has time to object, empty the bag so you don’t have a Costanza moment, Be the change. It starts with you mama. Holy God, Give me wisdom to create an environment that supports obedience. Father, forgive me for staying complacent in this area of my life. Open the hearts of my friends and family as I continue on this journey to health and healing in Your Name. Not so that You will love me, but because You do. Thank You Father for a renewed sense of hope and self. Thank you for giving my family open hearts as I talk to them, lead me Jesus, help me to say the right thing and thank You for the opportunity to instill good habits in my children from here on out. Help me to be the change in our home. I love you Father, lead me, guide me, direct me, I love You, I trust You and I am so thankful that You continue to lead me down this path. Help me remove distractions and excuses Lord. Help me to surround myself with truth. It’s in Christ’s Holy Name I pray, Amen.     You Keep Self-Sabotaging Because You Don't Believe You'll Actually Change

    Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”  But, there’s hope! Beliefs can change, praise God! And when they do—everything changes. Here are a few steps to take today to help you realign your beliefs: STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE LIE - What are you believing about yourself? Be honest. Ask the Lord to reveal all you need to know, this will take time. This is daily praying Psalm 139:23-24.  STEP 2: REPLACE IT WITH TRUTH - Not your opinion—God’s truth. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." STEP 3: ACT LIKE THE NEW VERSION OF YOU- Even before it feels natural. Identity is built through action. Fake it til ya make it baby!  STEP 4: STOP REINFORCING THE OLD STORY - Your words matter. Stop saying: “I can’t” “I always fail” or I’ll try.  Action Step: As you journal this week ask the Lord what belief is keeping you stuck? Write what you know and anything else He reveals. Ask Him to take it, then lay it at the foot of the cross. Lord, Renew my mind. Help me see myself the way You see me Father, help me to claim victory when the journey feels so long. Let me look only at today Lord and how I can honor You with my life and my choices. Break the lies I’ve been believing and replace them with You Truth.     Delayed Obedience is Still Disobedience

    “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 Here are a few steps you can take today: STEP 1: ACT IMMEDIATELY - When you feel that nudge—move. Not later. Not eventually. Now.  James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”  STEP 2: LOWER THE BAR - You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a starting point.  5-minute walk -  One healthy choice -  One “no” to temptation. 5-4-3-2-1-GO! Make a healthy choice! STEP 3: STOP OVERTHINKING - Overthinking delays action. Action creates clarity.  STEP 4: BUILD TRUST WITH YOURSELF - Every time you follow through, you prove something: “I CAN do this.” “I keep my word.”  Action Step for today is to ACT. Take ONE step. What is one thing you already know God is asking you to DO that you keep putting off in your health journey? Journal it and ask Him to help you take one step. Father, I love You so much. Please Lord, forgive me for delaying what You’ve made clear. Give me courage to act today not tomorrow. I want what You want for my life Jesus, I know I have so much life to live. Help me to honor You with my actions, help me be a person of action Lord. Help me become someone who follows through with what You lead me to Lord. Show me how to do it. Amen. Amen.     You're Not Addicted to Food- You're Addicted to Escape with a Side of Control

    Psalm 34:18; “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”  Proverbs 23:2 “and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.” Here are 4 ways to start today: STEP 1: IDENTIFY YOUR ESCAPE MOMENTS- Start noticing your pattern.  STEP 2: SIT IN THE DISCOMFORT (JUST FOR A MOMENT) -Instead of immediately reaching for food…Pause and sit in what you feel.  STEP 3: REPLACE ESCAPE WITH CONNECTION- Instead of numbing: Pray out loud- Journal what you’re feeling- Turn on worship music -  Step outside and breathe  STEP 4: SHORTEN THE ESCAPE LOOP - Let’s be real—you might still fail at times, but instead of spiraling for an hour or a day take a breath. Action Step: As you feel the craving, pause and ask yourself why you’re craving what you’re craving. Then say, Lord lead me. Will you do that? Journal what you hear. Holy Father, Help me stop running from what I feel. Give me courage to sit in discomfort and bring it to You. Teach me to choose connection over escape. I don’t want to numb anymore—I want to heal. I know I can’t do it alone Lord, lead me, guide me, be the constant in my head. I need you Jesus, thank You for loving me as I am while I work to be who I know You made me to be.     You Don't Need Motivation - You Need SURRENDER

    Galatians 2:20; “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”  4 Steps For Today: STEP 1: SURRENDER YOUR BODY DAILY STEP 2: STOP WAITING TO FEEL READY STEP 3: LET GOD CHANGE YOUR DESIRES STEP 4: OBEY FIRST—FEELINGS FOLLOW Most Holy Lord, I surrender my body, my habits, and my desires to You. Forgive me for waiting on motivation instead of choosing obedience. Help me walk in surrender daily, even when it’s hard. Change my desires and strengthen my spirit Father, I don’t want to do what feels right or what’s easy, I want to walk in step with Your Spirit in the lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.  Action Step: Pray a prayer of surrender and take one step towards where He’s leading, just one step of obedience. Pray for strength and let God lead.
