Pop Culture Basement

A great podcast celebrating a variety of pop culture fandoms. Only recently came across the show, but having listened to the Starlog, Sherlock Holmes, and Transformers episodes, the thing linking all these seemingly disparate topics is the kind heart and sense of fun Mike and his guests bring their discussions. The Transformers episode seemed to capture the show’s mission statement as Mike and his guest talked about the fond memories these shows, comics, and toys spark in them (not to mention lots of us ‘80s kids). If old toys are time machines we can hold in our hands, as one of his guests memorably put it, then Mike’s podcast is a time machine we can listen to. Thanks for making such a great show.

Such a fun show, always excited for new episodes

Love the topics and the thought and fun that go into each episode! Have fun! You’ll definitely enjoy!

This podcast is a fun and nostalgic look back at the weird and interesting things we grew up on. Mike is a great host and I look forward to more.
