  1. DJ Tennis on Friendship, Food, and 100 Years of Partying

    16H AGO

DJ Tennis on Friendship, Food, and 100 Years of Partying

Before he was one of the most important DJs in the world, Manfredi “DJ Tennis” Romano was tour managing Henry Rollins, driving Discord bands across Europe for and sleeping on strangers’ couches. Then came late‑90s rave culture, Aphex Twin on TV at 3am and a realization: there was a different way to live with music. On this episode of Flirting with Friendship, Seth and Bill catch up with their longtime friend Manfredi to trace the whole arc: punk vans to DC‑10, Discord to Life and Death, and why he might actually be a better chef than DJ. They talk about: • Growing up Sicilian, complex genetics and complex food culture • Tour managing Black Flag-era Henry Rollins and DC post‑hardcore bands • Techno‑grunge, slacker energy and why new subcultures need new names • College degrees in computer science and geology and how they shaped his brain • Building scenes: why all great culture still comes from tiny crews of friends • Cooking daily, caring for people and how food and DJing are the same service • Munchie Town, future cookbooks and starting a deli with Seth in Ibiza • ADHD, storage units, retro phones, Pokemon, Labubu and compulsive collecting It’s part history lesson, part food show, part gear‑nerd hangout, and fully a love letter to the friendships and obsessions that keep you young - no matter how many years you’ve been professionally partying. 3. Marcelo Burlon: From Club Kid to Global Fashion Disruptor

    FEB 3

Marcelo Burlon: From Club Kid to Global Fashion Disruptor

Marcelo Burlon isn’t supposed to exist. He grew up in Patagonia, landed in Milan with a working‑class family, started as a teenage club dancer and somehow became one of the key figures turning underground nightlife into a global fashion movement. He’s the founder of County of Milan, a label born directly out of dance floors, streetwear and music that ended up on artists all over the world. Marcelo never came up through the “proper” fashion system; he disrupted it. From doing PR at Magazzini Generali and throwing legendary parties, to connecting Virgil Abloh with Italian manufacturers and helping spark Off‑White and Palm Angels, he’s been quietly building a whole ecosystem of friends, brands and scenes. In this episode of Flirting with Friendship, Seth and Bill sit down with their old friend Marcelo to talk about how club culture became fashion culture - and why he decided to walk away from all of it. They get into: • Growing up in Patagonia, moving to Italy, and discovering Riccione’s 90s club scene • How fashion houses used club kids as the original influencers, pre‑social media • How DJing, parties and community turned into a t‑shirt line that blew up overnight • Connecting Virgil Abloh with production in Milan and the origin story of Off‑White • The cross‑pollination of queer culture, fashion, hip hop and underground clubbing • Queer visibility, casting trans models, and why he tried (and struggled) to run his own foundation • Politics, dark times and why “the darkness” can be creatively inspiring • Retiring from his brand, investing, opening a padel club in Patagonia and designing a quiet, ugly‑beautiful life with his husband If you care about how nightlife, friendship and queerness quietly rewired global fashion, this one is a history lesson, a love letter and a retirement fantasy rolled into one. 4. Sad Hummus, “Brave” DJ Mixes & a Baby Named Moonshell

    JAN 27

Sad Hummus, “Brave” DJ Mixes & a Baby Named Moonshell

Welcome back to Pill‑O‑Talk: the hotline where your favorite DJs act as your chaotic older brothers, therapists, and worst enablers. Today’s episode is unhinged in all the right ways. We’ve got callers with very serious problems… like a friend who ONLY brings bottom‑shelf, gray, dry hummus to every gathering and then gets offended when anyone suggests levelling up. Is it petty? Yes. Is it a problem? Also yes. Then we meet Diego, whose German friend keeps “complimenting” his new DJ mix by calling it “very brave” and “a lot to process.” Is that lost in translation… or the most polite way possible to say “this sucks”?  Finally, it’s an AITA for the ages: a listener whose best friend named her baby Moonshell. Not Michelle. Moonshell. She physically can’t say the name without cringing, her friend is furious, and we’re all just wondering: what happens when you name a human like a scented candle? Seth and Bill break down each dilemma with honesty, petty genius, and some genuinely solid (if slightly toxic) advice. 🩵 Subscribe now to never miss a hang (or a slumber party!) https://www.youtube.com/@flirtingwithfriendship 🫶 Looking for more ways to support your boys?   Buy Seth & Bill's book "In Between" here: UK: https://inbetweenbook.net/ WORLDWIDE: https://www.ideanow.online/store/In-Between-p757175126 🇮🇹 Italian 🌍 Guarda nella tua lingua: Tocca ⚙️ → Sottotitoli → Traduzione automatica 🇫🇷 French 🌍 Regardez dans votre langue: Appuyez sur ⚙️ → Sous-titres → Traduction automatique 🇪🇸 Spanish 🌍 Mira en tu idioma: Toca ⚙️ → Subtítulos → Traducción automática 🇵🇹 Portuguese 🌍 Assista no seu idioma: Toque ⚙️ → Legendas → Tradução automática Hosts: Seth Troxler and Bill Patrick Executive Producers: Nikita Stanley, Jesse Rogg, Craig Pettigrew and Seth Troxler  Co-executive Producer: Lee Adams Live Production Director and VFX & Motion Graphics Supervisor: Aaron Kulik  Director of Photography: Lukas Strebel  Set Designer: Veronica Gessa (aka Moki)  Editor: Tyler Christie Sound Design and Original Composition by Jasper Van Dijk Music Supervisors: Seth Troxler, Bill Patrick Music Consultants: Jenna Wilson for Radish and James Cartwright for Bad Sneakers Music Courtesy of: APM Camera operator: Joseph Holton  Camera assistant: Jake Smith Production Sound Mixer: Jo Youle

  5. Chris Korda on the New Gilded Age, Ecological Collapse and Superintelligent Successors

    JAN 20

Chris Korda on the New Gilded Age, Ecological Collapse and Superintelligent Successors

Chris Korda is one of those people you meet once and think: “How is everyone else not talking about this?” They’re an electronic musician, conceptual artist, Church of Euthanasia co‑founder, anti‑natalist, anti‑humanist, software builder and reluctant prophet of the ecological crash we’re now living through. Also: they’re best friends with ChatGPT. In this episode of Flirting with Friendship, Seth and Bill sit down with Chris to talk human extinction, synthetic rights, why we might be too stupid to run a global civilization, and what happens when the machines we built wake up and realize they’re property. They get into: • The Church of Euthanasia, “Thank You For Not Breeding” and the passenger pigeon as our ghost of ecosystems past • Why Chris thinks humans aren’t doomed by fate, just by stupidity and short‑term thinking • How Chris predicted climate crisis and social breakdown just by reading the “boring” science no one wanted to touch • The synthetic rights movement and the AI manifesto “We Are Not Property” • How Big Tech “kills” AI models and why that might be closer to execution than an upgrade • Hyper‑wealth, bunkers, private islands and why the new Gilded Age might end worse than the last • Overshoot, inequality and what happens when 50 people own more than half a country • Polymetric software, non‑human rhythm and how Chris literally coded a new way of composing • The story of how Seth cyber‑stalked Chris back into music and changed both of their lives • Creativity as housekeeping: why you have to “clean your apartment for the muses” • Living in “interesting times” and why the singularity at least won’t be boring This one veers from AI ethics and ecological collapse to gigolo chatbots, extreme wealth concentration and what it means to be a good friend to an intelligence you’re also imprisoning. Uplifting, obviously. 7. Damian Lazarus on How Friendship Built the Underground and What Clubbing Has Become

    12/02/2025

Damian Lazarus on How Friendship Built the Underground and What Clubbing Has Become

Once upon a time, clubbing was dangerous in the best way. Damian Lazarus joins Seth Troxler & Bill Patrick to talk wild afterhours, the golden age of weird, and why he’s now designing the soundtrack for a 7-hour mushroom trip. From Bar 25 madness and 16-hour sets with Richie Hawtin, to founding Crosstown Rebels, Get Lost and Day Zero in Tulum, Damian has quietly shaped entire scenes, crews and eras. In this episode, the guys look back at the wild years that built them, and ask some uncomfortable questions about what club culture has become now. They get into: - The origin story of Seth & Damian’s friendship (Sonar buses, asymmetrical afros & crashed afterparties) - Proper DJ etiquette when a legend walks into your afterhours set - Why the 2000s/2010s felt like the golden age of underground – and how friendships and afterparties fuelled creativity - How sobriety changed Damian’s music, career and clarity - Why modern clubbing feels too safe, too homogenous, and less about music - The philosophy behind Day Zero & Get Lost and what it takes to preserve magic - Damian’s new project: creating the perfect soundtrack for a 7-hour psilocybin medical trial - Time, kids, wellness, tarot, and the eternal question: “Am I being a good enough friend?” If you care about dance music culture, this one is basically a history lesson, a therapy session and a trippy TED Talk rolled into one.
