Want to burn it all down? What to do when you want to quit your business.

This episode is for the days when you feel like a total turd. When you don't want to do anything.  When you'd rather torch the place than make some stupid f**king Instagram carousel. Because no matter how much you work on you mindset, heal your nervous system, and chant money mantras, there are going to be days in your business when you genuinely do not want to do this anymore. You want to throw in the towel. Burn the whole thing down. Get a normal job. Move to the woods. Whatever. And then there are the days when you wake up on top of the world thinking, I am a f**king genius and this business is amazing. Welcome to entrepreneurship. In this episode, I’m talking about what to actually do on those s****y business days. Not how to force yourself into a better mood or convince yourself that everything is fine – because we both know that shit doesn't work until you listen to yourself and actually let yourself take a beat and rest. Because sometimes something is wrong. Sometimes you need to change the strategy, the offer, the business, or even decide you don't want the thing anymore. The goal is learning how to tell the difference between “I need to quit” and “I am having a really f*****g hard day.” I’m also breaking down the 4 Ds every entrepreneur needs: Decision: What have you decided you want?Discipline: What are you willing to do consistently to create it?Dedication: Why is it worth continuing when it gets hard?Devotion: Who are you committed to becoming through the process?Because there will be days when dedication gets you through. And there will be days when devotion is the only thing left. So when you're having one of those f**k this shit days, instead of trying to fix your entire business, come back to one question: Which D do I need today? And then make one honest choice that says yes to the life you've decided you want. You don't have to feel good about your business every day. You just have to be willing to be with yourself long enough to figure out what the f**k is actually true. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Limp Noodle Marketing

Two weeks ago, I was scrolling through my own podcast titles and realized I wouldn't click on my own content. And I thought, "what a f*cking limp noodle." Every title was technically accurate. It had all the right SEO, optimization, and whatnot. But it was BO-RING AF. The show is called F**k Around & Get Paid and I was clearly playing it stupidly safe. So I immediately changed the most recent episode right there on the spot to Kick Overwhelm in Its Red Hot Arse. I sent an email about it, and subsequently got the most unsubscribes I've had on my email list in MONTHS. To which I said, "Good." Because I don't want a bunch of limp noodles on my email list. I've a powerful shot of whiskey, and I need the whiskeys in my orbit so we can make sh*t burn hot together.  This whole thing got me thinking about the energetics of business and how often we do this in our marketing without even realizing it. Because while our words in our content might be technically accurate, it doesn't always make the right people stop scrolling. It you're a red hot sassy b*tch like me and you're playing it safe? You've lost your people before they even meet you. That's why, in this episode, we're talking about Limp Noodle Marketing: Why we do this, where it shows up, and how to make your marketing actually sound like YOU. In this episode: The sneaky ways you might be softening your messagingHow “professional” marketing advice can make your copy sound like turdsWhy you often can't see your own boring marketing from the insideHow to make your message match the actual energy you bring to your workThe questions I use to figure out whether something is actually going to make someone stop scrollingWhy your marketing doesn't need to be louder, it just needs to be more YOUBecause your content's job is to shake someone out of the scroll. If it doesn't do that, it doesn't exist to them.  Want to go deeper? This is exactly the work we're doing inside my upcoming workshop. We're looking at the relationship between your energy, your message, and your money, so what you say, what you sell, and what you charge can actually come from the same place. Bust the a$$ right out of your dreams

What do ripped jeans, a ska concert, and your biggest dreams have in common? More than you'd think. In this episode, I'm sharing one of my favorite (and most embarrassing) stories about literally blowing the crotch out of my pants moments before meeting my favorite band. But underneath the laughter is one of the biggest lessons I've learned about creating a business and life you actually love. Most of us are trying to squeeze our dreams into a version of success that's simply too small. We set goals that feel "reasonable," follow someone else's blueprint, and wonder why everything feels so tight. What if the answer isn't to work harder? What if it's to stretch your dreams instead? Listen in to hear: ✨ Why your dreams need more room than you think they do ✨ The surprising reason playing it "safe" can keep you stuck ✨ Four ways to expand your vision without getting overwhelmed ✨ How to let go of needing a specific outcome while still taking bold action ✨ Why the biggest breakthroughs often come after the biggest blowouts If you've been feeling cramped by the life or business you've built, this episode is your invitation to loosen the seams, dream a little bigger, and create a life that actually fits who you're becoming. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Kick overwhelm in its hot red arse

You can be incredibly talented at what you do and still feel overwhelmed when it’s time to build a business around it. Maybe you’ve already built something before. Maybe you’re really good at your craft. Maybe people already come to you for your expertise. But creating a business where you have to be visible, share your ideas, make offers, and consistently put yourself out there can bring up a whole new level of growth. You can know exactly what to do, but your business isn't just asking you to do things - it's asking you to become the kind of person who is more visible, more trusting, and more willing to take up space than ever before. In this episode, I’m sharing a conversation with someone in my community who had already built a successful business and was stepping into a new vision. She didn’t need someone to teach her how to be successful. What we need at this stage is support becoming the person who builds this next chapter. We’re talking about:  Why your next level of business often requires a new level of self-trust  Why visibility can feel uncomfortable even when you’re confident in your skills  The difference between needing more information and needing support in implementation  The four parts of building a business: vision, offer, visibility, and becoming the person who leads it  How to create a business that reflects who you are instead of who you think you should be If you’ve been successful in one area of your life but feel yourself being called into something bigger, this episode is for you. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The best kept secret in business (that 6-year-old you always knew)

What if your childhood wasn't just a collection of random memories, but a real business roadmap? In this episode of F**k Around & Get Paid, we're diving into why your childhood joy matters for your future success, fulfillment, and finances. You'll hear:  ✨ Why your childhood passions can reveal your natural gifts and strengths  ✨ How following your joy can become a business strategy  ✨ Why so many entrepreneurs burn out trying to build businesses that don't fit them  ✨ How to identify the patterns hidden inside the things you loved as a kid  ✨ How I built a business around being fully myself, having fun, and creating income through my natural gifts I'll also share stories from our community, including the childhood joys that revealed clues about the businesses and contributions they're here to create. The Spirituality Trap: Why women entrepreneurs are exhausted from trying to become "better"

What if the thing keeping you stuck isn't that you need more healing, more growth, or more spiritual work? What if you're exhausted because you've been trying so hard to become someone you're not? In this episode of F**k Around & Get Paid, we're talking about the pressure so many women entrepreneurs feel to constantly improve, evolve, heal, and reach some imaginary "next level" version of themselves before they allow themselves to fully step into success. Somewhere along the way, we've turned personal growth into another hamster wheel. We're always striving for the next thing. The next level of consciousness. The next version of ourselves. The version who finally has it all together. But what if your success doesn't require you to become more perfect? What if it requires you to become more you? In this episode, I share my thoughts on the spirituality trap, the pressure women feel to perform having it all together, and why I believe the future of entrepreneurship belongs to people who are willing to be fully themselves. We'll talk about: ✨ Why so many women entrepreneurs are burned out from constantly trying to improve themselves  ✨ How personal growth and spirituality can accidentally become another place we perform perfection  ✨ The connection between authenticity, confidence, and building a successful business  ✨ Why you don't need to reach your "highest self" before you're allowed to make money or create impact  ✨ The difference between running on the self-improvement hamster wheel and becoming an empowered player in the game  ✨ Why the world needs more entrepreneurs who are willing to show up as themselves For years, women have been taught to be the perfect duck: calm and composed on the surface while secretly paddling like crazy underneath. But you were never meant to spend your life performing perfection. You are meant to be a powerful player in the game. Because the way you build a business that creates income and impact isn't by becoming someone else. It's by becoming safe to be fully who you already are. Is your business vacation-proofed?

Summer has a way of revealing the truth about our businesses. If the thought of stepping away from your business for a vacation, family visit, or even a long weekend fills you with anxiety, this episode is for you. In this episode, I'm sharing a real-time lesson I learned while my parents were visiting during the middle of a coaching cohort. For the first time, I had intentionally designed my program to give clients more tools, more self-owned support, and more opportunities to implement on their own. And then something unexpected happened: the chat got really quiet. At first, my nervous system interpreted that silence as a problem. But what I discovered completely changed the way I think about coaching, client empowerment, and building a business that truly supports my life. We'll talk about the nervous system patterns that keep entrepreneurs tethered to their businesses, why being constantly needed isn't the same thing as creating transformation, and how I'm building a Joy-First Business that allows for both impact and freedom. If you've ever worried that taking time off means losing momentum, falling behind in your business, or letting your clients down, this conversation will help you reimagine what's possible. In this episode, you'll learn: ✨ Why summer can expose the places where your business still owns you ✨ The surprising lesson I learned when my coaching container got quiet ✨ How to create client empowerment instead of client dependency ✨ Common nervous system patterns that keep entrepreneurs overworking ✨ Signs your business may not be vacation-proof yet ✨ Practical ways to build more freedom, spaciousness, and sustainability into your business ✨ Why I believe your business should expand your life, not consume it If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear from you! How to de-influence your business

A few weeks ago I formed a simple hypothesis: If I don't have to be right all the time, my life would drastically improve. That one idea cracked open a dam - and what came flooding out was an honest inventory of everywhere I'd been performing a version of myself I didn't actually choose. In this episode I get real about what it means to de-influence your life and business - not just your content strategy, but the deeper stuff. The ideals you absorbed. The positions you never consciously took. The version of success you've been chasing that someone else built. In this episode: The hypothesis that changed everything (and why "not having to be right" is actually the most intuitive move)The corner-of-the-house IG live that made me think "this is f**king ridiculous"What I actually want my life to look like — and why I'd been squeezing my life into a brand instead of the other way aroundHow the influencer era sold coaches and healers a very specific (and very fake) idealWhy authenticity isn't a trend — it's the only response to a world that feels unreliableWhat de-influencing your business actually looks like in practiceLinks + Resources: Read the full essay this episode pairs with: Read HERELearn more about working with me: jenliss.comFollow along: @jennifer.liss_---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid?
