The Jerry & Nathan Show

Being a late bloomer myself, and having a gay father who came out after 20+ years of marriage, Nathan and Jerry’s story hit very close to home. The inside look at how these churches operate is incredible, and the podcast/show is just fantastic—so well-produced and engaging from start to finish.

Jerry and Nathan bring such warmth and honesty to conversations that could easily feel heavy, and instead make listeners feel like sitting down with old friends. What I appreciate most is how they hold space for nuance — they’re not interested in tearing things down just to be edgy. It’s rare to find a show that can be this emotionally generous, yet still make you smile. Whether you’re actively deconstructing, still in the pews, or just curious about these conversations, this podcast offers something rare: a space where doubt, faith, and identity don’t have to cancel each other out.

I love that this comes from such an honest place. I feel like it is gentle with the whole community. Whether it be a struggling gay person, gay Christian person trying to figure out where they stand on this and how to handle it or just a straight Christian person trying to do the same thing, this is worth a listen. I haven’t heard anything offensive or off color so far. It is so real and vulnerable. This puts a face, a soul and an identity on a group that is otherwise sometimes too easy to judge or lump into one basket. Thank you for helping me understand a struggle. Whether we agree on everything or not, we can learn from one another and be compassionate and nonjudgmental, which is Bibical. Thank you for educating me and for not judging me as I learn to not judge you. I think its a beautiful journey. P.S. Jerry, you are so funny!!

The Jerry and Nathan Show is an honest, courageous, and deeply human conversation about growing up in an evangelical home and church, discovering their sexuality, and working through the very real trauma that religious upbringing can leave behind. Hearing them open up about experiences that so many carry in silence is both moving and inspiring. Whether you’ve lived something similar or just want to understand it better, this podcast will stay with you. They’ve built something really special with this podcast. 🤍
