Previewing Notre Dame at Virginia Tech and the demons of Ben Franklin

Joshua, Jude, Brendan cautiously open up the podcast portal to preview the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and their opponent this week, the Virginia Tech Hokies. In this episode:

    HELLO!

You ain't ready for this turkey story.

Reading the tea leaves from media availability this week.

Why is the Virginia Tech crowd a thing? Like - why?

VT has a pretty stale offense, and we find many ways in which to describe it as such.

Dax Hollifield is the Sith clone of J.D. Bertrand.

These turkeys just don't look very dangerous at all. They're farm turkeys.

Notre Dame's quarterback conspiracy and losing to Cincinnati

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan jumpstarted the pod machine and are very eager to discuss the first loss of the season by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish - a 24-13 poopfest at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats. In this episode:

    HELLO!

A general list of grievances from the game - there were many.

Pyne over Coan? Well yeah... we are podding for nothing.

4th string left tackle... is that really an "embarrassment" or just a terrible reality?

    Our problem with Kevin Austin.

The crowd situation and the Bearcat party during and AFTER the game.

Finding ways to put the damn ball in playmakers hands. CAN WE GET AN EXTENSION OF THE RUNNING GAME?

    This sucked.

Five Star Fantastic-Shutting Their Mouths

Y’all are freak’n awesome. I live in the middle of SEC country (The original SC-South Carolina) and I constantly get crap for being an Irish fan. Then I have to explain my family connections to South Bend, etc. Thanks for all the juicy stats and knowledge on a weekly basis that I can fire back at Georgia, Florida and Tennessee fans. UGA fans are about as bad as Michigan fans. Both teams have the same problem: Georgia fans have Alabama mouths with Vanderbilt’s trophy cases, Michigan fans have Ohio State mouths and Purdue trophy cases. Y’all’s insight is greatly appreciated. So when stats and knowledge is dropped on them (other than Irish fans) their only reply is “Join a Conference” so I agree Norte Dame should leave the ACC and join the Big East for all Olympic sports. Football can stay independent and everything else is in a conference. That shuts their whole mouth up. Butler Bulldog grad, Irish fan forever. Thanks again you guys. Go Irish, beat overrated & piss poor coached UNC.

EMU 4 life ,

UNC

Fellas,

First of all I would love to see KH play again but I do agree he is a Top 10 pick and that was a scary injury that could have been worse. Guessing his family and agent are figuring that out And assessing the benefits.

I am extremely pumped for this UNC weekend and not just because of how this team is playing, the shiny light show which was awesome USC week, but I am surprising my son and we are going to the game. He has never been to an Nd football game and has been asking all year. I can still remember my first Nd game With my dad 1991 against MSU I was 6 and have never stopped loving the Irish. My son is obsessed and I cannot wait to get there and walk around and have this memory with him. Josh let me know if you want to meet up and talk about Irish or 5-3 Emu football!!!!! Or just have a beer.

Covid Vaccine crap

I have to give you all a concencious 5 star review. I work on a ship as an engineer. I can't watch the games while at sea, so while I may get to listen to the games on the Catholic channel, I have to rely on others for their opinions on the feel of the games. If I'm listening to another podcast when yours drops I immediately switch to listen to One Foot Down. I have tried the seeming Sicilian, and like it very much.
So I felt compelled to finally write you a well deserved 5 star review when I hear you speak on the topic of the Covid Vaccine.
Many people really believe that the government has no right to dictate health care choices for citizens of this great country. The vaccine is still in the experimental stage
It does not prevent all recipients from contracting covid
It has led to many people to be sick and even die
My three daughters are all allergic to penicillin which means they will have an adverse reaction to the covid vaccine
The vaccine, at least from one company uses humans fetus tissue as an ingredient
All this for a virus that has a death rate of less than one percent for those under 65 with no other medical conditions
So when Harry Butts causes you to claim the Constitution of the United States has been violated because they didn't name a building following the vote of the unwashed masses, I find it kind of funny that you are all in lock step with the government in the matter of the Vaccine mandate. You all should spend some time in a State down south. It's a different attitude down here
Vaccinate all those who need or just choose to receive it
Leave the choice to doctors and patients
I don't listen to my Dr about Notre Dame football. I don't expect to listen to you three about medical choices.
So FUSC
Go Irish
And 5 stars to One Foot Down
Ps try drinking Guiness
Most likely less calories than the crap beer you drink now
