#1087 Teaching with Alisa Keeton: Sweet Conviction

Do you need help?   Jesus tells us in John 16 that the Helper, the Holy Spirit, will convict us concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. Conviction can feel uncomfortable, but it is how we know we are children of God, the Good Father.   In this teaching, Alisa invites us to rethink conviction. The Holy Spirit doesn't convict us to shame or condemn us. He convicts us because He loves us enough to show us the way. "The correction of the Holy Spirit is sweet."   LEARNED HELPLESSNESS Learned helplessness is the belief that nothing you do will change your situation, especially after repeated setbacks. But here's the good news: it's learned. And if we've learned something, we can unlearn it.   So, do you need help? Have you invited the Helper to help you?   ANCHOR SCRIPTURE John 16:7–8 "Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment."   THREE REASONS WE MAY NOT FEEL CONVICTION 1. We're too tired. We numb our hearts and don't want to be constrained in our fatigue. 2. The world is too noisy. We're overstimulated and overconnected, leaving little space to hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit. 3. We're moving too fast. When everything feels like a five-alarm fire, we can move so quickly that we miss what the Holy Spirit is showing us.   EMBODIED PRACTICE This week, make room for the Helper: Practice silence Slow down Get some rest Read the Word of God Pray   PRAYER IF YOU'RE READY Jesus, I invite You to send the Helper to convict me of sin concerning anything that I am doing that numbs my heart towards You. Convict me. Open my ears to hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit. I offer You my appetites, my desires. God, restore me with rest. I'm sorry. I repent of too much, too fast, and too loud. I want to be taken captive as a prisoner of Your love and hope. Walk with me, Holy Spirit. Lead me in the ways I should go. I long to hear Your voice louder than the world. Convict me of sin, righteousness, and judgment. I love You and I thank You. In Jesus' name, Amen.   WATCH THIS OVER ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/YDqhZrp80Ek   Mentioned in this episode: Why Do I Hate My Body Teaching. #1086 "Who Are You Going to Be?" A REVING the Word Endurance Workout

What if the thing you're asking God to resolve is actually the thing He's using to form you?   In this REVING the Word workout, Jennifer Allen invites you to move and make space for the Holy Spirit to form you in the middle of whatever season you're in. Maybe you're waiting for clarity, navigating change, relationships, making a hard decision, or asking God to just fix something.   What if peace isn't found in getting the answer, fixing the relationship, or resolving the thing you've been carrying? Jennifer invites us to consider a different kind of peace, the kind that comes from staying connected to Christ while the story is still unfolding. There are moments when God doesn't answer the questions we're asking. Instead, He asks us a better one: Who are you going to be? What if He's doing a deep work in you while you wait?   New to REVING the Word? In these episodes, we don't just listen to Scripture, we embody the Word by moving our feet. So move however you can today, walk, run, march in place. There is no "right" way, so take a breath, and let your movement become your worship.   Anchor Scriptures: Luke 8:18 Mark 4:24 Hebrews 5:11 - 14 Romans 14:4 John 14:27 John 16:33   Playlist for this REVING the Word: Praise Him – Day Risen I'm Gonna Wait on You Lord (Dav's Groovy Mix) – Day Risen Awaken My Soul – Day Risen Give Me Peace (feat. #1085 "The Commanders of Calm" A REVING the Word Interval Workout

Jesus told His disciples, "Let us go across to the other side." And then a storm came.   They were in the boat fighting a stom, and Jesus was asleep. The waves were rising. The boat was filling with water. And the disciples asked the question we've all asked of Jesus: "Don't you care?"   In this REVING the Word workout, Alisa Keeton invites you into the story of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4. As you move and let the Word move in you, notice what happens in your body when you think about the storms you're going through. Let your movement become an opportunity to practice trusting faith.   We are all headed for a storm, in a storm, or coming out of one. The invitation isn't to avoid the storm. It's to discover who Jesus is in the middle of it, and learn to trust Him.   "If Jesus put you in it, He'll get you through it."   Anchor Scripture: Mark 4:35–41   Playlist for this REVING the Word: Show Me (Radio Edit) – Vumaala, Re Alissa Late Night – ODESZA Set My Heart On Fire (I'm Alive x And The Beat Goes On) – Majestic, The Jammin Kid, Celine Dion Jesus Is The King – Tiki Lau Silence (John Summit Remix) – Delirium, Sarah McLachlan, John Summit Welcome Resurrection (feat. #1084 It's Never Too Late to Start Again | A Conversation with Maxetta Gadd

"You want some change in your life? Start praying." -Maxetta Gadd For anyone who's felt disconnected from their body. Tried to control their way into freedom. For anyone who's wondered if it's too late to start again. Pull up a chair and listen in as Alisa sits down with our friend, Maxetta Gadd, for a real, honest conversation about the winding road back to truth. Maxetta gets real about the tension of knowing the truth but still finding yourself walking in lies. She shares the real struggles in her body and how missing out on opportunities to live life fully with the people she loves led her to make a bold change. Surrender. What followed wasn't a quick fix or a perfect before-and-after story. It was a deep surrender that began changing the way Maxetta understood her body, her habits, her relationship with food, and the Holy Spirit's role in her everyday life. Truth was revealed. And it started with prayer. This isn't a story about having it all together. It's a story of surrender. About discovering that what you thought was discipline could actually become delight. And about coming back to a community that will remind you who you are when you forget. Because it's never too late to start again.   Watch this episode on Youtube! #1083 "The House of God" A Be Still and Be Loved Biblical Meditation

Be Still & Be Loved is a guided Scripture meditation designed to help you slow down, become aware of God's presence, and rest in His peace. In this time to be still and be loved, Alisa invites you to settle into your body, breathe deeply, and remember: His presence is in you. He is always near. Peace is found in Him.   Drawing from Haggai 2:9, you'll be reminded that your body, mind, heart, will, and desires are a house of God, and "in this place, I will give peace."   As you rest in this time of stillness, bring a current circumstance that feels unsettling or painful to mind and imagine living it as a person of peace. This is embodiment of the Word, and an invitation to receive His presence and live as a person of peace.   Take a breath. Return to His presence. Receive His peace. He is already here.   🎵 Song: Peace by Anna Golden   Ready to Go Deeper? 👉 Join RW+ for faith-based workouts, health and wellness programs, and a community pursuing health and wholeness together. https://www.revelationwellness.org/membership/ 👉 Become a Donor — Support the mission of Revelation Wellness and help us continue to equip people to know God, get healthy, be whole, and love others.   👉 Get connected —  revelationwellness.org | Youtube | Instagram | Facebook   Share this episode with someone who needs the reminder that their body is the house of God. #1082 "Rejoicing is a Choice" A REVING the Word Interval Workout

When life feels disappointing, heavy, or uncertain, rejoicing can feel like the last thing you want to do. But Scripture gives us another way. Joy is a fruit, and rejoicing is a choice.   In this REVING the Word experience, Kara invites you to move your body while training your heart to rejoice in the Lord—even when your circumstances don't feel good. Through Scripture, movement, worship, and what Kara calls 'chorus cardio intervals,' you'll use the music to move your feet.   Rejoicing is a learned response, we get to choose it. Whether you're walking, running, or cleaning the house move in whatever way works for you today. This is your invitation to move while letting God's Word move in you. Rejoicing is your battle plan. What can you rejoice for today?   Anchor Scriptures: Philippians 4:4 Psalm 118:24 Habakkuk 3:17–18 Psalm 34:1 Galatians 5:22–23   Embodied Practice: Gratitude is a muscle! It grows stronger the more you do it. So practice rejoicing today. Name what's hard. What is your "fig tree" right now? Where are you disappointed, discouraged, or waiting for something to change? Then choose to praise God, not because your circumstances are good, but because He is good. Say this out loud: "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it."   And when you wake up tomorrow, say it again. Rejoicing is a learned response. Keep choosing it. Keep practicing it. Keep reminding your heart of what is true.   🎵 Playlist for this REVING the Word: The Joy - Studio Version– The Belonging Co, David Dennis, Andrew Holt, Shantrice Laura Joy Is Coming – Rave Jesus, Terrian, SON. #1081 Teaching: Your Body Doesn't Need a Steward. It Needs a Shepherd.

"We steward our lives by staying close to the shepherd who knows how to feed and care for his sheep."   What if the way we've been taught to "steward" our bodies is actually keeping us more focused on our bodies than free in them? In this teaching, Alisa Keeton invites us to take a deeper look at stewardship, and what Scripture actually says about stewarding our bodies. If you've ever felt like you should be doing more, eating better, exercising differently, or getting your body 'right' this conversation is for you.   Alisa walks through a body dissatisfaction scale and explores how easily Christian wellness language can become another way of watching, comparing, and trying to control our bodies. Instead, she offers a different picture: Bodies need shepherding more than stewarding.   Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He knows how to lead, restore, and care for us. Our invitation is to stay close to the One who knows how to care for our whole selves. In this teaching, you'll explore: What body dissatisfaction really is how to identify it in ourselves How body stewardship can unintentionally become another form of control Why bodies are meant to be lived in, not watched The connection between soul hunger and body dissatisfaction What Scripture actually says about stewardship What it looks like to seek Jesus first in a noisy, hyper-visual wellness culture Why we may need a Shepherd, not another set of rules   Watch this teaching on Youtube: https://youtu.be/If8NlxBuKVU   Practice & Reflection The next time you notice yourself watching, measuring, comparing, or criticizing your body, pause and ask: Am I living in my body, or am I watching my body? Then take a breath and turn your attention toward the Good Shepherd. What would change if I trusted the Good Shepherd to care for me instead of believing I have to control myself?   Teaching Scriptures: John 10:10 — Life to the full Romans 12:1 — Offering our bodies to God 1 Corinthians 10 — Honoring God with our bodies 1 Corinthians 4:1–2 — Stewarding the mysteries of God 1 Peter 4:10 — Stewarding God's gifts Matthew 25:14–30 — The parable of the talents 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 — Our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit Mark 6:34 — Jesus' compassion for people like sheep without a shepherd 1 Peter 2:24–25 — Jesus as Shepherd and Overseer of our souls Psalm 23 — The Lord as our Shepherd   Mentioned in this Teaching Download the Body Dissatisfaction Scale: https://www.revelationwellness.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/body-dissatisfaction-scale.jpg Why Do I Hate My Body Webinar. #1080 "When God Feels Absent, Keep Rowing" A REVING the Word Intervals Workout

What do you do when you followed God into the boat, and then He seems to disappear? When the storm lasts longer than you expected, the answers don't come, and you find yourself asking, Where are You, God?   In this REVING the Word experience, Alisa Keeton walks through John 6:16–21, where the disciples find themselves rowing through a storm after witnessing Jesus perform a miracle. As you move your body, you'll explore what it means to trust God when He feels absent, and to recognize His presence in the middle of the storm.   Train your heart as you move your body. Whether you're walking, running, or cleaning the house as you listen, this is an invitation to get honest and bring your questions before God. You don't have to understand the storm to trust the One who put you in the boat.   Today's Scripture John 6:16–21   Embodied Practice: Grab a notebook, on the left side write out your groans, your questions, complaints, frustrations, and fears. Bring it honestly to God.   Then, on the right side, write: "But as for me..." Lift all these things up to God. Trust Him. Follow Him. He is worthy.
