Customer Reviews
Great daily podcast
I did t listen to The Gist until after his departure from Slate, and heard about the controversy after the fact. I thought I’d give it a listen after hearing about him on another podcast and I don’t think I’ve skipped a day since I started listening in January. Mike is witty, intelligent, well versed and experienced. He is a much needed level headed voice in a sea of hysterics.
Unapologetic ablist
Mr. Pesca has a long history of conflating blindness with stupidity, ignorance, or foolishness. When he has been called out on this, he publicly digs in and mocks those who criticize him. His willingness to openly mock the disabled community for standing up for themselves is reminiscent of Rush Limbaugh. And this coming from a person who claims not to use mockery as a rhetorical device. I guess it doesn’t count when it applies to the disabled?
I love this show
I never an episode.
