Jami Dulaney Wellness Podcast: The Incredible Egg

Welcome! and thank you for listening.   There has been some great feedback on a low carbohydrate/high fat diet.  Patients are noting weight loss, improved sleep, improved mobility with less joint stiffness and better glucose control to name a few.  Things I never thought I would see especially so quickly.   However, a there have been some people very disappointed in my direction shift.  Many of them had relied on me to convince their spouses that eating plant based was the way to go and now I have pivoted.  Others are very uncomfortable facing their friends and answering a whole new set of questions on diet change.  My advice would be don't worry be happy.  Be happy with the good qualities of your friends and family and they will continue to support you as well.  Eggs: are they good or bad?  I will present some data on eggs and dementia and eggs and diabetes.  You get to choose.  However, I am feeling really good about eating my eggs daily.  I hope you find the discussion entertaining and thought provoking.   If you would like to work with our practice hop on over to doctordulaney.com and check out our website or give us an email at jami@doctordulaney.com or even call the office where a human will answer and set up a complementary telephone call with yours truly to discuss the practice.   Thanks for listening! Jami Dulaney MD Wellness Podcast: Episode 464: We Still Have Health in Co

Welcome! and Thank you for listening.  It has been a week of growth and discussion for sure There has been some early positive results with nutrition shifts to a low carbohydrate high fat diet for many people.  There has been improved sleep quality, weight loss, better energy, better glucose control early in their journeys.  Some have struggle with low energy levels that have been corrected by changing the types of foods they are consuming. However, there have been anger issues and stones have been thrown.  People have felt excluded and lead astray thinking they signed up for a plant based community and now it is gone.   What we have in common in this community is a desire to reach optimal health and wellness through nutrition and movement.  Just like there are many ways to exercise, there are many ways of achieving optimal nutrition.  There are no mandates to change if their current program is working.  The only difference is options.  In this episode I encourage people to see what they have in common as opposed to focus on differences.  Perhaps learn to respect those with a different view or opinion.  And if nothing else control the environment around your own feet and project a positive light for others to see.   Thanks for listening.  Website: doctordulaney.com Email me with questions: jami@doctordulaney.com Water distillers: https://mypurewater.com/?sld=jdulaney discount code: cleanwaterforsophie

Jami Dulaney MD Wellness Podcast Episode 458: Croom Fool and Doubt

Welcome! and Thank you for listening.   This episode will highlight my latest ultra at Croom's Fool run where I completed 35 miles/50K.  The original goal was 50 miles but the day went a little different.  Nevertheless, I finished feeling well and continue to learn about low carbohydrate fueling and ultra distance events.  I will also share a story of doubt that I observed.  The story we tell ourselves can seem benign and even humble, but it is sometimes setting us up for failure.  We have 70,000 thoughts per day and about 80% are negative according to research.  95% are repetitive.  That means we keep telling ourselves negative things quite often.  That would easily be labeled as "bad parenting" today but it seems perfectly ok to subject ourselves to it.  I see similar things in the medical community.  Providers are not willing to see challenging information as learning or keep an open mind to change.  The "practice of medicine" is just that.  Practice and life long learning.  We are not inferior or wrong if we change our minds.  It is evolution of learning.   If you would like to learn more about nutrition and health span, check out our website at doctordulaney.com We are happy to answer questions and meet you where you are.  Email me at jami@doctordulaney.com  Thanks for listening.  Cookbook: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1733967702/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_2MQAN70986E6XJ28MHDX?linkCode=ml1&tag=httpswwwdocto-20&linkId=c49a2feed4f53850090dd5f665b798ee ebook: https://doctordulaney.com/.powerful-plates-ebook/?mc_cid-cc24587 Water distillers: https://mypurewater.com/?sld=jdulaney discount code: cleanwaterforsophie
