American Experience Presents
"American Experience Presents" brings a fresh take on the iconic stories told on TV's most-watched history series. This 10-episode anthology launches with three powerful narratives: Joseph McCarthy, whose anti-communist crusade terrorized 1950s America; media titan William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper mogul whose empire shaped public opinion for decades; and Sgt. Isaac Woodard, the decorated World War II veteran whose brutal assault by police sparked a civil rights awakening. This new GBH podcast examines how these three transformative figures shaped pivotal moments in 20th century America, bringing their stories to life for a new generation of listeners. Expansion of an already great series.

Ever since I saw the episode n The Donner Party many years ago, I have been an avid follower of American Experience. It’s one of, if not *the* reason I subscribe to Public Television. The series has expanded to pod casts and irt is every bit as good. These programs should be required listening in every junior and senior high school. What a great way to teach American History, so sorely needed today!
So well done

Releasing this close to Halloween & election season was the perfect choice for the chilling tale of Joseph McCarthy. Historically scary stuff and very well told. Great show!

All episodes of this program should be part of public education required curriculum. Not only does it tells the true history of [this occasionally great] country, but it makes us all smarter. More importantly, it gives us perspective.
