Update - 03.30.26 - What the heck?7 + min of ads before the show actually starts? Greedy. Rude. 🤮 If I could rate this a 7, I would. Updated - 12.14.25 - this podcast turned into a navel gazing challenge after David Pierce took over. Also, and this really tipped me over the edge, why do I care what a tech reporter who has still never been in a Waymo has to say about tech? 🤯 Update - 12.15.25 - I thought more about my past reviews of this podcast and simply needed to update it. David, be a dad or be a tech reporter, stop doing both at the same time. Also, how does it make sense that a tech news company is from New York?

First, their ethical standing on not taking corporate money to travel and review their product on their dime draws me to supper verge podcast. Second, the host, guests, and their topics are always interesting and entertaining. I look forward to their continued efforts to diversify their programs around tech

I’ve been listening to The Vergecast and reading The Verge for more than a decade and have stuck with these great reporters through a lot of ups and downs. But the latest changes to the show, including its frequency and journalistic rigor are hard to stick through. The daily episodes are shorter, less substantive, often poorly researched (if at all) and under-informed. I can’t quite put my finger on specifics, but the shift in the show is incredibly disappointing. I doubt I’ll be listening for much longer, unfortunately. Also: my previous review of the show from 2023 requested chapter markers. It’s now nearing the end of 2026 and somehow there are still no chapter markers?! Sigh… just adding insult to injury.
