Once Kelli was isolated from her family, the abuser told her that he was now the center of her life, and that she had to obey him. Everything the abuser once praised about her, were now the things he criticized about her. Kelli was now in a prison that was being reinforced by the people she trusted and the church as well. And even after Kelli left marriage, the abuser still exerted control through the repeated court battles over their children.
