Many airplanes, called flights, could not take off. Over one thousand flights were cancelled. This made many families sad because they couldn't go on their trips. Why did this happen? The people who guide the airplanes in the sky needed to make sure everything was super safe. So, they had to slow things down for a little while. Our first word is 'flight'. F-L-I-G-H-T, flight. It means 班機. It's the trip a plane makes from one airport to another. For example, 'Our flight to see grandma is at ten o'clock.' 我們的班機是十點鐘,要飛去看奶奶。Our second word is 'cancelled'. C-A-N-C-E-L-L-E-D, cancelled. This means something that was planned will not happen. For example, 'The picnic was cancelled because it started to rain.' 因為開始下雨了,所以野餐被取消了。Next up, we have 'traffic'. T-R-A-F-F-I-C, traffic. It usually means cars on the road, but it can also mean planes in the sky! It's all about movement. A sentence could be, 'There is a lot of air traffic today.' 今天空中的交通很繁忙。Our last word for today is 'safe'. S-A-F-E, safe. It means you are protected from danger.
