Learning to Trust Your Intuition, Featuring Dr. Fanike-Kiara Young, LCSW

Learning to Trust Your Intuition, Featuring Dr. Fanike-Kiara Young, LCSW

Dr. Fanike-Kiara Young, LCSW joins us today to have a candid conversation about intuition. Your gut feeling about a person or situation is often your first indicator of a red or green flag. Instead of paying attention to how we feel about a person or a situation, we attempt to play things safe or small by giving it the "benefit of the doubt."

Signs That You Are Being Devalued By a Narcissist

Signs That You Are Being Devalued By a Narcissist

Devaluation occurs when you are no longer being idealized by the narcissist. The narcissist may be preparing to discard you and regardless of what you do, you cannot prevent them from attempting to find fault in you or treat you poorly.

    Idealization in Relationships

    Idealization in Relationships

In this episode of the podcast, I discuss what idealization of romantic partners is in relationships, and why we do it. In the beginning of relationship, there are some of us who get caught up in the idea that this person is the "one" therefore we refuse to evaluate evidence to the contrary.

Difficult topics with kind discussion

I really enjoy the show. It's usually informative and structured in a way that is easy to follow. The show touches upon very difficult subjects in an artfully thoughtful and understanding way. I'm currently using this in conjunction with therapy to help navigate toxic family dynamics.
