    Episode 75: Citizen's Arrest (Encore)

With the holiday season comes more awkward conversations with family, so we're bringing you an encore episode of our first ever call-in show where you, dear listeners, share with us how you're talking gender, race, politics, and more with your parents, aunties, in-laws, step-siblings, nephews, and more. And guess what: it's really hard! And messy! And you're not alone! We also got our homie Gene Demby of NPR's Code Switch on the line to talk through the now-public email exchange between Margaret Cho and Tilda Swinton about whitewashed Hollywood roles. It's a vintage beef that highlights the ever-relevant question: when will white folks stop making people of color do undue emotional labor? And come to our Kwanzaa Spectacular live at the Bell House at 8pm on December 8th - get your tickets here. Email us: anotherround@buzzfeed.com Follow us: @heavenrants and @brokeymcpoverty Follow Gene Demby at @geedee215 and @nprcodeswitch Sign up for our newsletter at buzzfeed.com/anotherround/newsletter Check out our merch! shop.buzzfeed.comLearn more about your ad choices. Episode 110: Wheatgrass in Your Ass (with Jenifer Lewis)

Episode 110: Wheatgrass in Your Ass (with Jenifer Lewis)

This week, we bring to you our conversation with living legend, Jenifer Lewis.  You know her from your favorite sitcoms like Fresh Prince, Girlfriends, and most recently, Black-ish, as well as iconic films like What’s Love Got to Do With It? (playing Angela Bassett’s mother), The Preacher’s Wife (as Whitney Houston’s mom), and Poetic Justice (as Tupac’s mom).  She has a new memoir out, fittingly called The Mother of Black Hollywood.  She chats with us about her illustrious career, navigating bipolar disorder, and learning how to properly self-care.  Plus, she shares with us some valuable insight on whether or not Tom Hanks is a black man, and you might hear her sing a song or three with Tracy (!).  Follow Jenifer Lewis at @JeniferLewis.   Follow us: @heavenrants and @brokeymcpovertyEmail us: anotherround@buzzfeed.comSubscribe to our newsletter: buzzfeed.com/anotherround/newsletter Check out our merch! shop.buzzfeed.comAnd come to our second annual Kwanzaa Spectacular at The Bell House in Brooklyn on Friday, December 8th at 8pm.  You can get your tickets here.  Learn more about your ad choices. Incredible podcast

This podcast is such an amazing show even though it’s ended years ago.

But where is episode 71? My tinfoil hat is on and it is so strange that this episode is recently missing. FYI This episode covered the post election feels of 2016. Please put this episode back on.

Still love this pod

This podcast ended several years ago and I still miss and value it so much. The conversational space(s) Heben and Tracy created were so uniquely comfortable and connecting for their guests (esp Black folks, even moreso Black women). Their questions were also so thoughtful, probing, open-ended, and inviting. They weren’t afraid to be themselves and speak from their own experiences and experiment and build the show around their interests and likes and needs.

I need a serious pickup today.

I searched out this podcast because nothing has lifted me up the way this podcast has helped me in the past. My soul misses them.
