From Overcoming Addiction to Becoming Kobe Bryant + Michael Jordan's Mindfulness Coach
One of the best mindfulness coaches in the world, George Mumford discusses sobriety and addiction, his love for philosophy, and "the alarming possibility of being able." George is renowned for his work with professional athletes Kobe Bryant and Micheal Jordan, who credit him for transforming their on-court leadership. From former head coach Phil Jackson and players from the legendary championship Chicago Bulls teams in the 90s, George has worked with countless athletes, Olympians, executives, and artists over the decades. Novus Global coaches Jason Jaggard and Dan Leffelaar talk with George about how creating space between stimulus and response can slow down the perceptual process to help anyone in the moment. George shares compelling stories about the false narrative of self-doubt that causes people to accept negative thoughts rather than investigate their validity. The trio discusses Tom Brady's short-lived retirement, and Jason opines why he prefers Star Trek over Star Wars.
The Power of Language
ON COACHING | Language has immense power and shapes the way people see the world and construct their reality. In this episode, David Gerber, Amanda Jaggard, and Janet Breitenbach discuss shifting internal and external negative talk in the context of dating, career, parenting, and life. They explore how using descriptive versus generative language can lead to self-sabotage and invite listeners to consider what language/narrative will be more resourceful for where they want to go.

How To Be An Executive Coach + Gritty Beginnings (ON COACHING Pt. 1)
ON COACHING | Welcome to the inaugural episode of On Coaching! In Pt. 1 of this episode, Jason Jaggard, Janet Breitenbach, David Gerber, and Amanda Jaggard discuss the unique paths that led each of them to coaching, describing their gritty beginnings with the levity and clarity of hindsight. They discuss which attributes make for a good coach (and a bad one), the common misconceptions associated with a career in coaching, and their relentless pursuit of mastery in their craft.
Growth, Personal Trainers + Asking the Right Questions (ON COACHING Pt. 2)
ON COACHING | In part two of the inaugural episode of On Coaching, Jason Jaggard, Janet Breitenbach, David Gerber, and Amanda Jaggard discuss the impact coaching has had on their lives—at the very beginning and in their lives today. They detail the importance of having a beginner’s mindset to grow, and how as coaches, they’re not magicians, but rather, personal trainers. They discuss and share some terms and frameworks that have been helpful in creating fruitful client-coach relationships. We learn the potency of the question: In what ways are you conning me? And the traction that comes with continually asking and answering that question in your life.
I found this podcast on an instagram story the other day and saved it for later. Last night around 4 am I couldn’t sleep and so I threw on the integrity episode. I really enjoyed it and it brought a little peace to my mind when I needed it. Looking forward to more!
LOVED your newest episode!!
I’ve been a long time listener but first timer commenter and just have to say that I was incredibly inspired by the most recent episode: “Honoring Your Word, Recognizing Blindspots + the Financial Costs of…” The importance of honoring one’s word is something that must be discussed in order to maintain one’s integrity. If you are wanting to listen to this podcast but need a place to start, I highly recommend starting with this episode.
