    B&R #026 | Temptation Part 4

This week on Bourne & Raised, Tim, Titus, and Mark conclude the temptation series with Part 4, focusing on the life of King David and the sobering reality that temptation comes for everyone. David was a man after God’s own heart. A warrior. A king. A worshiper. Yet despite his spiritual maturity and leadership, he still fell into temptation in a moment that changed lives forever. In this finale, the team unpacks what David’s story teaches us about pride, vulnerability, isolation, and the danger of believing we are beyond temptation. The higher we rise spiritually, the more important it becomes to stay humble, aware, and dependent on God. This episode ties the entire series together with one central truth: No amount of spiritual growth removes the need for vigilance. Temptation comes for us all.   CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 00:16 King David’s Temptation 01:45 Sin Thoughts Vs. B&R #025 | Temptation Part 3

This week on Bourne & Raised, Tim, Mark, and Titus continue the series on temptation with Part 3, turning to one of the most sobering examples in Scripture: King Solomon. Known as the wisest and wealthiest king in the Bible, Solomon had everything. Yet despite his wisdom, his heart was gradually turned away from God through compromise, specifically through relationships that pulled him in the wrong direction. In this episode, the team unpacks how temptation does not always come through weakness alone. Sometimes it comes through success, comfort, and slow drift. Solomon’s story becomes a warning that no one is immune, and that what we allow into our lives can shape what we ultimately become. They also discuss how to recognize these patterns early and what it looks like to guard your heart, stay grounded in truth, and defend against temptation before it takes root.   CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 00:16 From King Saul To King Solomon 02:00 How King Solomon Experienced Temptation 03:29 When We Go Outside Of God’s Plan, It Always Leads To Destruction 04:27 You’ll Think You Can Handle It 05:16 Temptation Begins With Dismissing God’s Word 06:35 Who’s Kingdom Is It For? 07:49 Solomon’s Legacy 10:37 Covenantal Drift 12:55 Neglect Of God Always Takes From You 14:43 Outro   👍 Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more conversations that help you live out your faith with clarity and conviction. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you never miss an episode of Bourne & Raised. 👇 JOIN THE CONVERSATION: Have you ever caught yourself in a “slow drift” from God? What you allow in your private proximity often becomes your greatest point of temptation. In this episode, they unpack how the things we keep close, whether habits, influences, environments, or thoughts, can quietly shape our desires and decisions. Temptation rarely begins in a moment. It often begins in what we tolerate over time. This conversation is both challenging and practical, helping listeners recognize the importance of boundaries, awareness, and intentional living when it comes to resisting temptation. This is Part 2 of the series. The discussion will continue as they explore how to not only recognize temptation, but overcome it.   CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 00:16 Power Vs. B&R #021 | Don’t Settle For Insignificant

This week on Bourne & Raised, Tim and Titus take a deeper look at the story of Lot, uncovering a powerful detail that is often overlooked: Zoar. As God was leading Lot away from destruction and toward safety in the mountains, Lot instead asked to settle in Zoar, a place that seemed small, manageable, and “good enough.” Tim and Titus unpack the hidden significance of that decision and what it reveals about human nature. Why do we resist where God is trying to lead us? Why do we settle for what feels easier instead of trusting what is better? This conversation explores how God is often calling us out of destruction and into something greater, yet we can be tempted to choose what feels safe, familiar, or insignificant. The story of Lot becomes a mirror, showing how easy it is to trade God’s best for something less. If you have ever felt the pull to settle instead of step forward in faith, this episode will challenge you to trust God’s direction and aim higher.   CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 01:23 God Gives Us Warning Signs 05:10 Accountability 07:40 The Story Of Lot 11:11 God Is Giving One Last Chance 14:02 The “Significance” Of Zoar 24:05 Don’t Leave The Blessing Of God 28:11 Quit Settling For Insignificant! 32:53 God’s Design For Covenant Relationships   👍 Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more conversations that connect Scripture to everyday life. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you never miss an episode of Bourne & Raised. 👇 JOIN THE CONVERSATION: Where in your life have you been tempted to settle for “good enough” instead of trusting God for more?   Support the Show: (select fund PODCAST SPONSORSHIP) https://www.kindridgiving.com/app/Form/78ad43d8-65e8-4c98-adee-ddea14e23587 FOR BUSINESS AND SPONSORSHIP INQUIRIES: Bourneandraisedpod@gmail.com   📱 STAY CONNECTED: ▶️ Subscribe on YouTube 📸 Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bourneandra... 🌐 Learn more at: https://www.genesismetro.org/

    B&R #020 | Don't Get Caught Up

This week on Bourne & Raised, Tim, Carrie, Jordan, and Titus continue the Surrounded conversation by unpacking a powerful warning from Hebrews 12:1 — the sin that so easily entangles us. What does it really mean to get “caught up”? Through the stories of Esau and Samson, the Bournes explore how small compromises can lead to bigger consequences, and how easily distraction, desire, and disobedience can pull us away from what God has called us to. This episode is both a warning and an invitation. A warning about the dangers of drifting, and an invitation to live with awareness, discipline, and purpose. The conversation closes with a powerful distinction: regret vs. repentance. Regret leads to grief and staying stuck. Repentance leads to God, freedom, and restoration. If you have ever felt pulled off track or caught in something you did not intend, this episode will challenge and encourage you to refocus and move forward.   Chapters 02:18 Don’t Get Caught Up 06:57 Ever Been Caught Up? 13:42 Esau-Level Short Sightedness 17:35 Samson Caught Up 21:55 God Gives Warnings And Boundaries 24:16 Make The Right Decision Today 25:02 Preventative Maintenance 27:54 “It Just Happened” 28:55 Regret Vs. Mile Markers Of A Relationship With Christ | Episode 019

This week on Bourne & Raised, Tim, Carrie, and Titus kick off a new series of conversations inspired by Genesis Metro’s sermon series, “Surrounded,” based on Hebrews 12:1–3. Looking at the “cloud of witnesses” mentioned in Scripture, they focus on the powerful story of Rahab. A woman whose single decision to trust God changed the trajectory of her life forever. Her story is a reminder that following God often requires risk, courage, and a willingness to step away from what is familiar. The Bournes unpack how choosing obedience can lead to a change in your environment, your relationships, and ultimately who you are surrounded by. Sometimes the hardest part of faith is not knowing what comes next, but trusting God enough to take the step anyway. At the center of this conversation is a simple but powerful truth: you are one decision away from God changing your life for the better.   CHAPTERS 00:58 Sermon Series: Surrounded 01:37 The Story of Rahab 04:49 How Rahab’s Story Applies To Us 08:17 Mile Marker 1: Meeting God Leads To Risk 11:59 Parasitic Christianity 17:15 Mile Marker 2: Meeting God Will Change Your Crowd 26:02 How Your Crowd Impacts Your Marriage 30:25 Evangelism vs. Secularism 34:01 You Are One Decision Away   👍 Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more conversations about faith, family, and living out biblical truth. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you never miss an episode of Bourne & Raised. 👇 JOIN THE CONVERSATION: What was a time where God called you to risk your circumstances to follow Him?   Find the latest Genesis Metro service  ⁨@GenesisMetro⁩  Support the Show: (select fund PODCAST SPONSORSHIP) https://www.kindridgiving.com/app/Form/78ad43d8-65e8-4c98-adee-ddea14e23587 FOR BUSINESS AND SPONSORSHIP INQUIRIES: Bourneandraisedpod@gmail.com   📱 STAY CONNECTED: ▶️ Subscribe on YouTube 📸 Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bourneandra... 🌐 Learn more at: https://www.genesismetro.org/
