Captive Audience is more than just a movie podcast. It taps into why we watch movies--to keep up with what's new in pop culture, to experience something for the first time, and to share that experience with friends and loved ones.
Captive Audience is a reaction video in podcast form with hosts Edwin Janes, Sean Roney, and Alex Ward. The unique format allows us to keep up with what's new, catch up on classics, and share films that are near and dear to our hearts. Movies can feel very solitary, especially if we're just watching Netflix at home. But at times the best parts of movies comes from sharing them with other people. It can be laughing in the theater with the rest of the audience, debating with friends, or simply asking, 'So, what did you think?' once the credits roll. This podcast gets at why we watch movies, and as cliche as it may sound, how shared experiences bring people together.

    12 Angry Men

    12 Angry Men

"You've listened to a long and complex case, murder in the first degree. Premeditated murder is the most serious charge tried in our criminal courts. You've listened to the testimony, you've had the law read to you and interpreted as it applies in this case, it's now your duty to sit down and try to separate the facts from the fancy."
With the judge's words ringing in our ears, we head into the courts this week to make Edwin watch the 1957 classic 12 Angry Men. Sidney Lumet's directing debut remains a foundation of the courtroom drama genre to this day, even though almost nothing is seen in an actual courtroom.
So light up your cigarettes, fix the broken fan, keep your switchblade strapped, and join us for a boiling hot deliberation.

Another great podcast from a fun trio!

I could listen to Edwin, Alex, and Sean all day - guys, please make podcasting your full time job and just create a half a dozen more podcasts!

Following the Michael Scott Podcast Company pod, which has been going strong for years, the trio started this movie-focused podcast with an interesting premise: 1 host introduces a movie to 1 (if not both) of the other two, who has (have) never seen it.

It’s a fun podcast to listen to whether you (the listener) have seen the movie or not, because there’s at least one person on the panel who is in the same situation as you, and at least one person who can give you another perspective.

I always want to watch/rewatch the movie they discussed every time I finish an episode, so: great job, guys!!

Great podcast idea and a fun listen!

Listener from the MSPC podcast here. As a film nerd, I’m loving the concept for this pod! Great movie choices and love hearing the different perspectives
