#121 Luciana Manolea: MTT Pro with 4.5 Million in Career Cashes & Crypto Modeling Wizard

#121 Luciana Manolea: MTT Pro with 4.5 Million in Career Cashes & Crypto Modeling Wizard

Today’s guest on the Chasingh Poker Greatness podcast is former online MTT poker professional Luciana Manolea.

Luciana’s poker journey spans over 10 years where she’s cashed for over $4.5 million dollars in her combined live and online poker career.

Luci considers her poker origin story a “fortunate accident” while she was in college studying computer science. It was there that she realized the heart pumping thrill of competition was in her blood not 1’s and 0’s, and she made the life altering decision after getting her degree to go pro instead of sitting in a chair pumping out computer code all day.

Even though her parent’s weren’t initially thrilled about it, from there she was off to the races where she carved out an extremely successful poker career.

In today’s episode you’re going to learn:

How insane multi-table poker tournament variance can really be in a story that makes this poker podcast host’s blood run cold.
Luci’s new metaphorical mountain she’s gearing up to climb (HINT: It involves the world of cryptocurrency).
How she systematically goes about trying to overcome her cognitive biases so that she can be the best version of herself.
    And much, MUCH more!

So without any further ado, I bring to you fearsome Romanian crusher of souls Luciana Manolea.

#120 Matt Waxman Rnd 2: Living the Poker Dream While Pitching Cards at Bananas

Today’s guest on the Chasing Poker Greatness podcast is Matt Waxman who’s back for a very special Round 2.

He’s a WSOP bracelet winner, WPT Champ, and founder of the insanely addictive and innovative video-game like poker format PokeRithm.

If you’re one of the sad souls who missed Matt and I’s Round 1 conversation, I’d highly suggest you go back and listen to it because it was an all-time classic…

I daresay our Round 2 lives up and perhaps even exceeds the original.

In today’s show you’re going to learn:

About the hilarious time Matt, Jason Mercier (One of the great poker players to ever live), Chris Ferguson, and a bunch of other high level pros spent their evening throwing hundreds of playing cards at a banana.

Stories about the late, great WSOP bracelet winner and WPT champion Gavin Smith.

The one thing Matt wishes he would have never done a single in his poker career.

    And much, MUCH more!

So without any further ado once again I bring to you world class storyteller, legendary poker pro, and founder of PokeRithm.com Matt Waxman.

Tactical Tuesday #15: The Differences Between High Stakes Live Cash Games and Low Stakes Live Cash Games

Tactical Tuesday #15: The Differences Between High Stakes Live Cash Games and Low Stakes Live Cash Games

In today's episode of Tactical Tuesday Coach Brad and his student Jon break down the differences between high stakes live cash games and low stakes live cash games.

In the first half of the show they break down the strategic differences and in the back half they discuss the environmental differences.

The strategic differences they go into are:

    - The role rake plays in your strategy: Drop rake vs. Timed rake
    - The strategic differences in stack depths (100 bbs at small stakes vs. uncapped at bigger stakes)
    - The differences in levels of aggression as you move up stakes.
    - Why you ought to be prepared for big games to inevitably get bigger as the night wears on.

    The environmental differences discussed are:

    - The fact that bigger games don't run nearly as often as smaller games (And how this relates to how you ought to prepare for moving up stakes).
    - The differences in how the players treat one another at the bigger stakes compared to the smaller stakes.
    - Why at the big stakes there tends to be mutual respect amongst the pros and recs with minimal patronizing from either side.
    - The role politics plays as it relates to getting a regular seat at the table when the bigger games do run.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Today’s guest on the Chasing Poker Greatness podcast is Jordan Zucker.

Jordan’s a high stakes mixed-game grinder who was referred to yours truly by his friend and past CPG guest, the nosebleed mixed-game Queen Supreme, Melissa Burr.

Jordan and I’s wide ranging conversation will take you from his poker origin story many moons ago to a never-before-covered setting on this show the New York private game scene of yesteryear, and then on to present day where he’s battling on the green felt.

In today’s episode you’re going to learn:

All about Jordan’s adventure playing in a massive $100-$200 PLO game (Where winning and losing $100k in a session is a totally realistic thing to happen) with no limping and a forced button straddle.

How he wishes his past self would have responded to sleazy angle shooters

The horrible, no-good, very bad session that ended with Jordan driving home feeling completely numb.

    And much, MUCH more!

So without any further ado, I bring to you a fiery combatant wherever high stakes mixed-games are spread Jordan Zucker.

Interesting and educational content!

I listen to Chasing Poker Greatness in the car on my way to and from work and I’ve been inspired by the content both from interviews and poker strategy. I listen to many poker podcasts but Brad Wilson stands out from the rest because his guest interviews provide far more than poker strategy. In fact, I’ve leaned more about just being human and living life (life strategy) than poker strategy, however my poker game has improved greatly as well. Thanks to Brad and everyone at CPG for making my life and my poker better!

Putting the guest first

The host Brad Wilson cares more about making his guest look good and letting the guest tell/ explain their story and strategy.

Greatness bombs galore

Brad consistently delivers on great poker content whether it be insightful / entertaining interviews or high level poker strategy (providing listeners with a front row seat into what a typical coaching session would look like - immense value!). He is clearly passionate about the game and the community (look at how many episodes the man puts out!) - I always get hyped to play or study after an episode. 1000% recommend for poker enthusiasts of all levels
