If you are looking for organizations to support as we demand safety for children in the United States, Moms Demand Action is a grassroots organization fighting for gun control. Everytown is another non-profit that is working to make it harder for guns to get into the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. They advocate for things such as requiring background checks for all gun sales, and denying gun applications for people who have been charged with domestic violence.

We all know that gun violence is also a mental health problem. If you or anyone you know is having a psychiatric emergency please dial 911. If you believe that someone else or you are in danger of harming others, or has access to a gun and there are mental health concerns please call 911 or a trusted friend or family member who can arrange for you to get immediate assistance.

If you have older children who may be hearing about this most current school shooting and they are feeling afraid fortunately (and unfortunately) there are several online resources to help children process complex emotions after a school shooting.

In this episode we shared information about accessing breastmilk via a local human milk bank. To connect with your local milk bank you can access them here: https://www.hmbana.org/find-a-milk-bank/overview.html . If you are interested in learning mor about informal milks sharing this is a great resource: https://www.facebook.com/hm4hb/. For those of you who inquired about which formulas I recommend from overseas Holle and Hipp would be my favorite. As a board certified lactation consultant I am urging pregnant and families with small children to consider seeking support from one of us if you are interested in lactation or are having difficulites. You can find an IBCLC “International Board Certified Lactation Consultant” all over the world by simply googling “lactation consultant” and your city or state.

Megefresh ,

So grateful for this podcast!

I’m two episodes in and can tell you that I’ve honestly never felt so connected listening to someone else speak about their experiences. I don’t share any of those experiences-this connection has nothing to do with this shared pathways or similar life circumstances, but is about Brandi‘s way of bringing connection to her listeners through her commitment to do better as a parent. It is truly inspiring- and I feel like I can do it too- it’s not too late to make changes and do better.

Warmth, encouragement, openness, and most importantly so much love.

This podcast is EVERYTHING. Not only does it open the door to help you to be the best birth worker, doula, parent, friend, but most importantly the best YOU, you can be.
It inspires. I’ve cried on almost all the episodes, so validating.
Brandi makes me feel her warmth through her stores and words along with feeling like I’m out to coffee with one of my girls.
We need all of us doing the work we are meant to be doing and this show helps to encourage that.
Truly my favorite podcast💛

Great listen 4 THINKING about becoming a parent

This podcast sounds like i'm listening to my informative auntie! You sound and look like all the beautiful women i grew up around and This podcast is giving me so much insight about what it might be like or the things you need to consider when becoming a parent. I have a lot of fears related to parents specifically because i’m black, a woman, and queer. Also have a partner who identifies the exact same and going into this parenting space can seem very nerve wrecking already as a black woman, Let alone being a LGBTQ+ family as well. This podcast gives me so much to look forward to if we decide to have kids, and the precautions to take as well.
Love love love it! there’s space here for everyone who wants a good listen 🤍
