The big sisters I need

You two truly are the big sisters I never had. This show offers the best mix of messages… from anti-diet, body positivity/neutrality, pregnancy support, postpartum health, and parenthood in general, I always finish an episode feeling so seen. Thank you ladies!

Fantastic Podcast

I appreciate the debunking of diet culture. It’s so toxic and for many years made me feel like I wasn’t a person worth being in certain spaces. Thanks.

So I listened to your summary of the Oprah episode and another one on your views of GLP-1’s. As a person with class 2 obesity, the pain that people struggling with obesity are going through is very real. Pushing the intuitive eating and HAES narrative and shaming weight loss meds is not helpful, and reeks of a new anti diet diet culture. I guess those of us suffering should just say, ok we can’t all be a healthy weight, I guess I should go on a walk and appreciate that my legs can walk today. Today they can, but maybe not 5 years from now if we continue on this track. Obesity can pull you down where you know all of the things that you should do but just cannot do it because of the physical and emotional pain that the extra weight causes. As you say multiple times, you are a healthy weight. You do not get it. There’s a lot of laughing and mocking about the episode with Oprah that you didn’t even watch!! She did say obesity is a disease of the brain, her having struggled with it her whole life makes that perspective different than what you would understand. She also said, if you are obese and not making any changes to your diet or exercise, bless you. If you are making changes through diet and exercise, bless you. If you are using weight loss medication, bless you. It was her way of using empathy and saying, I see you, I understand. From what I have heard on your episodes, you’re now shaming anyone that takes measures to change their body. Why is shaming ok in that regard? And on the ozempic episode, wow making public comments about someone’s hair thickness and facial feature, and masking it as “but I’m a professional I was making a formal assessment!” Sorry but no, there is nothing professional about that!!
