DBR Bites #163 - CFos Returns!

Caleb Foster returns! The Duke point guard has announced that he will return for his senior season, and we hop on very quickly on DBR Bites #163 to discuss it! Pressure? What pressure? Competition? Bring it. Foster’s announcement just a few minutes before Donald and Jason hopped on to talk about it is telling us that he’s ready to embrace all of it and help lead this team in whatever role he may have. Everyone has to be excited about Foster coming back to finish out his college career at the only school he wanted to play at, and the leadership and continuity is going to help immensely. We’ll continue to discuss how Caleb fits into next year’s roster on a future episode, but we wanted to celebrate him saying he wants next year to be legendary! Make sure you’re following us! DBR Bites #162 - Pat’s Back!

He’s back! Patrick Ngongba II has announced that he’s returning to Duke for his junior year, and we cannot be more excited on DBR Bites #162. Pat’s return will have some expectations attached to it as he seeks to be one of the best centers in the country next season. Jason and Donald are excited about the possibilities as they discuss some of what might have led to his decision to stay in school and not test the NBA Draft waters. We also give our takes on what we can see from an improved Pat next season as he becomes one of the main centerpieces on offense and defense. We also dive quickly into some of the portal possibilities remaining for Duke as John Blackwell visits campus and we discuss a couple of the other forwards that Duke is considering. The portal entry deadline is tomorrow, so we’ll surely be back with more news as we await the decisions of the portal players as well as several players on the Duke roster. DBR Bites #161 - Drew Commits, Cayden Stays, Nik Turns Husky

We finally had some news, and just as we were about to record, we got some more! We discuss it all on DBR Bites #161. As we were set to record, Belmont transfer Drew Scharnowski committed to Duke out of the transfer portal, and we’re happy to have our first transfer of the offseason. Donald, Jason, and Scott Rich joining us discuss Scharnowski’s potential and what he can bring to the Blue Devils next season. We also look at the things that he will need to work on to be successful in a Duke uniform. We also discuss Cayden Boozer announcing that he will return for his sophomore season, and we could not be more excited to welcome him back! We discuss his rise and what he figures to be for Duke next season. After we say goodbye to Jason, Donald and Scott continue to discuss the news that Nik Khamenia is headed to Storrs to join the UConn Huskies. We reflect on his decision and where he likely will play while also discussing the natural anger that Nik has left Duke for UConn after how the season ended. Make sure you’re following us! DBR Bites #160: No News Means…No News?

We haven’t heard a lot of news on the status of the Duke Men’s Basketball roster for next season…and we know everyone trying to figure out what it all means! We update everyone on what we’ve heard and speculate on the portal on DBR Bites #160. After Nik Khamenia and Darren Harris entered the transfer portal, the news cycle has gone quiet. Sure, Duke has been rumored to be considering several players from the portal, but no one on the squad has made any decisions public yet. We start by going through the roster and giving what we think is the status of those players who may have decisions to make, whether it’s to stay at Duke, enter the NBA Draft, or to transfer. Some guys are likely very torn on their decision, but we also try to reassure folks who might be getting antsy that no news means bad news for next year’s roster. We also dive into some of the players that we are reportedly considering in the transfer portal and discuss the news that Flory Bidunga has committed to Louisville just hours before he was scheduled to visit Duke. Duke will still have a great roster, but we shall have to wait and see who fills out next year’s roster as everyone makes their decisions. Make sure you’re following us!
