    Ep. 47: Perfect, Not Flawless: Point 1 & Localized Rightness | The Enneagram & the Delusion of Separateness, Week 3

    Think of something in your life you are certain is wrong. Now notice how certain you are. In this third episode of The Enneagram & the Delusion of Separateness, Rev. Nhien Vuong continues around the Enneagram to Point 1, exploring the delusion Almaas calls Localized Rightness: the belief that something is always wrong, that rightness lives in certain standards and not others, and that we must correct ourselves and the world in order to be acceptable. Drawing on Almaas's teaching on Holy Perfection, A Course in Miracles' teaching that we cannot judge, and the old Taoist story of the farmer and his horse, Rev. Nhien explores how this delusion lives in all of us and the particular shape it takes for Type 1. She shares a story from her years as a young attorney and offers a guided pause to look at one thing you are certain is wrong. The episode closes with a distinction between judgment, which is rigid, and alignment to truth, which is supple—and an invitation into the essential perfection that underlies all of existence, including you. Almaas calls the delusion of Localized Love: the belief that love lives in certain people, places, and times, but not in others, and often not in ourselves. Having journeyed twelve weeks around the whole Enneagram circle—exploring the shadows associated with each type, the gifts of its connecting lines, and the invitation toward greater wholeness—Rev. Nhien and other members of the CPE facilitation team (Aliyah, Jill, and Macha) offer their own reflections on what this journey has awakened in them.     Ep 42: Enneagram Lines: Living Pathways for Integrating the Shadow

    In this Week 11 reflection on Shadow Work & the Enneagram Lines, we step back from the individual types to take in the whole. Beginning in original blessing, we explore how identity organizes around a single gift while other dimensions of our wholeness fall into shadow. Rather than "good" or "bad" directions, the Enneagram's connecting lines become living pathways revealing where life is already inviting us toward our own exiled wholeness. Journeying through the Body, Heart, and Head Centers, we discover how the shadow speaks through projection and how what we judge most quickly in others may point toward parts of ourselves waiting to be welcomed home. We close in Centering Prayer, discovering that integration is not about becoming someone new, but about reclaiming the wholeness that has always been ours.     Ep 41: Type 7: The Shadow of Freedom—Avoidance and the Courage to Stay

    In this Week 10 reflection on Shadow Work & the Enneagram Lines, we conclude our journey through the Head Center—and around the entire Enneagram circle—with Type 7 and the shadow of freedom, where the sincere love of possibility and aliveness can gradually become organized around avoidance. Through the Enneagram as a map of consciousness and contemplative practice, we're invited to notice where we reach for the next experience, leave before our lives have ripened, or quietly outrun pain—and to discover that the one freedom the false self resists is the freedom to stay. This reflection opens a path toward integrating the energies of points 5 and 1—recovering depth, focus, and sustained presence, along with principle, discipline, and the capacity to see things through—and the felt sense that the abundance we have been seeking is not waiting somewhere ahead, but is already here.
