Healing - Incorporating the body into the healing process

Healing - Incorporating the body into the healing process

Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going with our bodies. Our minds often need to be reeducated to feel physical sensations and through connecting the mind and body once can slowly reconnect with ourselves. Helping the body includes awareness, connection, grounding, centering, and mindfulness - all wrapped in self compassion.

Join certified trauma informed yoga instructor and team member at Care to Change, Ginger Boyce, and therapist April Bordeau, as they talk about practical ways we can incorporate the body into the healing process.

    Healing from Racism

In this podcast, Bridgette Collins George sheds light on why healing from racism is important, how complex healing is, and what practical steps someone can take to begin that process.

Bridgette reminded us that we, "cannot heal in isolation. We must have connection."

    Specific steps Bridgette addresses are
    1. acknowledging the need,
    2. finding the right therapist,
    3. doing the work,
    4. being intentional about who is allowed in your circle,
    5. keep learning, and
    6. having safe spaces.

Experiencing Deep Healing Versus Behavior Modification

Join special guest Marc Pimsler and therapist/director of Care to Change,  April Bordeau, as they discuss the difference between behavior modification and true inner healing.

Marc is an entrepreneur, published author, sought after trainer, therapist, supervisor and coach. During this episode Marc explains that one will know it's time for deeper work when he/she feels stuck in patterns, when he/she feels activated/unsettled more often, when "things keep coming up" or when they feel.  If you're feeling frustrated with the lack of progress , you know it's time for more.

"You don't wait until the house is on fire to decide to do a kitchen remodel... Don't wait until you have to go to therapy. Go because you *get* to go."
