    Show Notes:

Welcome back for Episode 23!  Today, I want to share with you my interview with Dr. Kevin Payne, social psychologist, data scientist, author, teacher, and skydiver who took charge of his own happiness after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He decided to get back to a hobby that brought him joy and now has over 600 jumps in 3 years. He is an extremely knowledgeable person and very down to earth… ha!
For next week, I was able to achieve some firsts for the podcast. We have our first multi-paneled interview as I sit down with co-creator Chris Burnside and voice talent Stephen Gogol, and Jordan Lopez from Dayton Writer’s Movement’s The Hidden People audio drama. I listen to their show regularly and was super excited to sit down with them. I’ll admit that it is going to be a long one because that’s what happens when you get theatre people and writers into a space and let the jokes fly. If you need shenanigans in your life to cheer you up, make sure to visit again next week!

Episode 22 - Do Be a Drag... Queen!

    Show Notes:

Welcome back for Episode 22!  Today, I want to share my interview with Lala Luzious, The Snack of the Twin Cities, local drag performer, host of the Snack Size podcast, journalist for the Twin Cities Gay Scene magazine, makeup artist, and show host of “Power” at the Black Hart of Saint Paul. She is also releasing her own book of poetry, "A Loitering Heart" in February and will be featured in a new web series, “It’s Not You” coming out this year.
I’ll be honest, I am exhausted from just thinking about all the work she does on a weekly basis. A wonderful guest with an even more wonderful soul and work ethic who champions the idea that stepping outside of ourselves once in a while is a Wonderfully Weird Way to Be.
Next week, we will be sitting down with social psychologist, entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker, teacher, and frequent guest panelist Dr. Kevin Payne to talk about how he jumps out of a perfectly functional airplane to take control of his body back from his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. We discuss how to create and nurture a life worth living and I think he may have convinced me to jump.

Episode 21 - Stinkin' Thinkin' Errors

    Show Notes:

Welcome back for Episode 21!  Today, I want to talk a little bit about thinking errors or cognitive distortions and the impact they can have on our day-to-day experience of the world. I took a list from the internet of 16 common thinking errors and we’ll explore what they entail. I will bet that you will recognize some of the common barriers to a more positive mindset. Stay tuned… this might be my version of Pokémon as I catch them all!

Next week, we will be sitting down with the Queen of the Twin Cities herself Lala Luzious as we talk about dressing and performing drag, her new book of poetry, and how getting outside of yourself can be very liberating and great for your mental health.

Welcome back for Episode 20!  Today, we will be sitting down with plant-based nutrition coach and host of the Win the Food Fight podcast, Michelle Vilseck, as we talk about nutrition for physical and mental health, how you may have been lied to your entire life about food, and how eating more vegetables can give you superpowers… ok, maybe not superpowers, but at least uncanny abilities to heal yourself.

Next weeks topic is to be determined so keep a weathered eye on the horizon of our Instagram and Twitter for the announcement!

    Show Notes:

Welcome back for Episode 19!  Today is an extra special, super serious, holiday-themed episode! Not really… today is my day to thank you for your support and tuning in each week. I’ll give a quick recap of what we’ve achieved this year on the podcast and my dreams for where we will explore together in 2022. Don’t worry though, there will still be Dad Jokes this week to cringe at and enjoy.

Next week, we will be sitting down with plant-based nutrition coach and host of the Win the Food Fight podcast, Michelle Vilseck, as we talk about nutrition for physical and mental health, how you may have been lied to your entire life about food, and how eating Vegan gives you super powers… no, seriously it can.

Episode 18 - MMORPGee, This is Fun!

    Show Notes:

Welcome back for Episode 18!  Today we sit down with author and blogger, N. Daniel, who just recently released a new book, Burn this City to the Ground, which chronicles his mental health recovery and development of a new friendship while living in Minneapolis during the riots over the murder of George Floyd. Don’t worry, this episode doesn’t stay too heavy as we then move on to discuss MMORPGs while taking a gut punch of nostalgia, and even talk about erotic roleplay in World of Warcraft… hey, if you know you know.

Great host with an amazing show

Not only is the host amazing at interviewing guests but he is also just naturally likable. Finding Weird is a fantastic show introducing hobbies that could be considered “weird.” If you’re looking for something new to do, this is the go to podcast!
