How to Live Life on Purpose - my interview on the Throwing Wrenches Mending Fences Podcast
I have a fun episode to share with you today, and it’s a little different than normal! I was a guest on my friend Sarah Zastrow’s podcast, Throwing Wrenches Mending Fences, and it was a really powerful conversation that left me feeling so uplifted when I was done. I decided to share that interview with you this week, so you’ll still get to hear from me, but also, you’ll get to meet and learn from Sarah too (spoiler-she’s amazing)!
In this episode, we cover:
My story of stepping into the farm/rural life + my discovery of the world of personal development, and all that has evolved since then How the pandemic was like an awakening for so many people, and really challenged us to take a closer look at our lives Finding joy, intentionality, and purpose in whatever season of life you’re in + still pursuing your unique goals and dreams Taking time to be reflective and ask yourself the hard questions, even when it’s uncomfortable Learning to operate from a place of peace and contentment instead of constant stress and chaos Finding balance in the day-to-day life (and why this doesn’t mean everything is getting equal parts of your energy and focus) Why workaholism shouldn’t be celebrated in agriculture + why it’s SO necessary for farming families to set boundaries when it comes to work and family Bringing together the personal growth + business development for yourself with your farm, instead of keeping them totally separate

Forging The Path as Your Authentic Self with Courtenay DeHoff
I’m very excited to be joined by the amazing Courtenay Dehoff on the podcast today! Courtenay grew up in the thick of agriculture (which she loved), and she eventually landed her dream career as a television host. She felt like she had checked allll of the boxes when it came to her career and life, and while everything looked good on paper, she had never been more miserable or unfulfilled. Ultimately, she knew she needed to ‘come back home’ to her cowgirl roots, and integrate that world with her new city girl lifestyle.
Courtenay now embraces her unique cowgirl roots and proudly stands out in a world of cookie cutter on-camera personalities. Armed with a passion to share stories on her own terms and give prominence to the agriculture community, Courtenay has utilized her expert storytelling skills to show being a cowgirl isn't how you look, where you live, or even the lifestyle you lead - it’s a state of mind. Courtenay even created Fancy Lady Cowgirl, a powerful community of women from all over the world who have a passion for the ag lifestyle, and really embrace their cowgirl spirit. Being a cowgirl doesn’t have to mean that it’s your occupation, but instead, it’s your mindset.
In this episode, we will cover:
Courtenay’s story of growing up surrounded by agriculture, to then landing her dream career as a television host, but still feeling unfulfilled Connecting with people + building relationships with those who understand the importance of staying true to who you are, while also fully embracing a new lifestyle What can happen when you choose to live life as your most authentic self Courtenay’s upcoming Fancy Lady Cowgirl event + her new TV show, Backroad Cowgirls Helping people in both the ag space and urban America be more open to learning about what the other side has to offer The power of investing in yourself + surrounding yourself with those you’re striving to be more like Resources & Links:

Behind the Scenes Achievements
In today’s episode, I want to talk more about behind the scenes achievements - things that aren’t always known about publicly, or recognized by other people. Intangible goals are super important, and choosing to pursue something new and different (and maybe out of the norm) should be celebrated. I hope this episode encourages you to take notice of all the behind the scenes work you’re doing and progress you’re making in your life. ALL of it matters, and you’re going to get exactly where you’re meant to be!
In this episode, we cover:
The intangible and unseen work that happens when you’re trying to re-shift your identity and bring your unique vision to life Looking back to see what you did months and years ago, and how much progress you really have made since then Why the tangible and measurable goals don’t always get you closer to what you want Taking a step back and meeting yourself where you are right now, instead of feeling like you have to go all in and give something a million percent Giving yourself time and space to understand what you really want, instead of putting pressure on yourself to have everything all figured out The confusing intersection that happens between chasing something and finding contentment

How to Be Your Own Cheerleader
For some reason, we can easily identify other people’s gifts and strengths, but struggle to recognize our own. We don’t think that we have anything of value to offer the world, but goodness, that is so not the case! Having an unshakable confidence in yourself and what you bring to the table is a beautiful thing. It’s also NECESSARY when you want to bring your goals and intentions to fruition, because no one can do it for you.
In this episode, we cover:
How so many of us have been conditioned to recognize our flaws above anything else, and not see our value or worth Taking time to reflect on and identify your strengths and unique gifts you bring to the world Figuring out if your strengths are really true to you, OR if they exist to fulfill other people’s expectations of you How your greatest strengths can also be a double-edged sword, and may be more detrimental to you in some ways The concept of wholeheartedly believing in and cheering others on, but really struggling to do the same for yourself Writing down and/or saving the positive, uplifting notes about yourself (whether you or others shared them) Retraining the way you talk to yourself when you make mistakes, and things don’t go according to plan Focus on baby steps and celebrate the small wins on your journey Resources & Links:

Redefining Rural-ish Living & Cultivating Change with Emily Matzke
On today's episode, I have Emily Matzke as a guest! One of the most beautiful things about Emily is she’s very clear on what she wants to do with her life. She always knew she was meant to be in agriculture - she really is her happiest and freest self when she’s involved with the farm. Emily has been super intentional about following her passions and choosing to do work that lights her up, instead of staying stuck in a traditional job that did just the opposite. She continues to do a variety of work in agriculture, and she loves showing others a complete 360 view of what life can look like in this space.
Emily is laser-focused on building a life with intention, and she is totally your go-to girl when it comes to agriculture and farm life. She is all about redefining rural-ish living and cultivating change in our world today. I know you’re absolutely going to LOVE hearing Emily’s story, and all of the goodness she has to share!
In this episode, we will cover:
Emily’s early, cherished memories on her grandparents’ dairy farm, to her continued desire to have a career in agriculture ‘Jumping without a net’ and going all in to pursue your goals and passions Creating an inviting and relatable space for people both online and in the local community to learn about agriculture What ‘rural-ish’ living looks like for Emily, and how she shares that with others The importance of leaning into and embodying your own, unique identity vs. trying to fit yourself into someone else’s box of you Changing the conversations by bringing empathy, compassion, and curiosity to the table Confidently leaning into the real, authentic YOU Resources & Links:
