Cobalt Core
Tonight on GeekNights, we review Cobalt Core. It's a cross between Slay the Spire and FTL, taking the best aspects of both. It's also super cute. In the news, the Pickleball people are facing increasing drama, and it's good to "cheat" at Pokémon. We also make fun of AMD for a while.Related LinksForum ThreadCobalt CoreDiscord ChatCobalt CoreThings of the DayRym - AI Tom Scott talks about SneedScott - Better Rockem Sockem Robots

Star Trek: Lower Decks
Tonight on GeekNights, Rym and Emily review Star Trek: Lower Decks. Based in part on the high concept TNG episode Lower Decks, it's worth your watch. If you've never seen any Star Trek before, perhaps try the first episode of this and the first episode of Strange New Worlds to see if it's your cup of tea.

"long timer listener, first time subscriber..."
I've been tangentially following GeekNights since I was, like, 12? Not actually listening to the podcast, but attending their panels at conventions when I had the opportunity. They're good dudes, smart and entertaining. When I started getting into listening to podcasts, I subscribed to theirs, and it's good! Not everything they talk about is relative to my own interests, but that's part of the point, that they cover a lot of different topics.
You already know these guys
Do you have a friend who is not really good at anything, but always claims to be an expert or always HAS to be the contrarian. Or that friend who is never actually listening to you, but is only waiting for their turn to speak. Yep, that’s who these two are. They seem to confuse being loud with being smart. I do respect the effort they are putting in though, and can appreciate their steady stream of content.
I think these two would have something if they slowed down to hear what the other is saying, instead of just waiting to shout their next statement.
I wanted to like them, I am really sorry that I don’t.
Too much shouting
Why is the one guy SHOUTING THE WHOLE TIME?
