CBD 101: Everything You Need to Know Before You Buy With Fleur Marche's Meredith Schroeder

CBD is easily one of the most pitched products in our inboxes. We sometimes feel so overwhelmed with CBD brands and products that it can be easy for us to want to move on to the next big trend. The fact is, however, that most people are just discovering this "gorgeous molecule" (as Casey Georgeson of Saint Jane puts it).  We invited Meredith Schroeder, co-founder Fleur Marché — an e-comm site decidated to wellness-focused cannabis products and tauted as the "Sephora of CBD" — on the pod to break everything down: what are the real benefits of CBD, what claims can be made, how do you find the perfect CBD product, can it get you high, and what's next when it comes to CBD?

Just so good

Gloss Angeles is a new favorite of mine. I consider myself a beauty enthusiast, but this podcast has filled so many gaps in my beauty knowledge and I feel way more confident researching and purchasing new products. “What’s on your face” makes me want to blow all my money on beauty, yet I feel like this podcast has made me way more intentional and less impulsive when it comes to beauty buying. I’ve joined and love the Facebook group too! Kirbie and Sarah are so knowledgeable and approachable in the ways they discuss all things beauty. AND my husband, who refuses to even wash his face, really likes this podcast and HE recommended it to some of my gal friends in a conversation about podcasts. Amazing. Don’t ever stop making this.

Kppast ,

I don’t wear makeup but love your podcast!

I only wear makeup once or twice a year for special occasions and never thought I would be listening to a beauty podcast. I was reading an article about the best podcasts to listen to during the pandemic and your was listed. I thought something fun would be a nice change and I’m hooked. I didn’t realize all the information I would be learning.

I have rosacea and wasn’t taking very good care of my skin the way I should, especially being 46. I’ve learned so much from listening to you and have since started taking better care of my skin. I started using vitamin C after hearing your podcast focused on this product and really appreciated the rosacea podcast. I’m also going to give Rene Rouleau’s products a try when I finish the Eminence products, I currently use and wasn’t using very much prior to listening to you. Her website has been a great resource for me, since I heard her on your podcast.

I love that I can turn out some of the craziness for a few minutes, by listening. Keep doing the wonderful job you are doing!

Not your demographic, that’s why I listen!

So ladies, I’m in my 60’s. I have to tell you how I started listening and why I continue to listen. While walking I had been listening to political and decorating podcasts. One day I thought that my head was going to explode. But I just can’t walk without a podcast. So I found y’all. Well, at my age and skincare needs I didn’t imagine that there were many products that you could introduce to me. Yes, I’m into luxury products. If you’re not at my age, then when?
But I was so wrong! Y’all are so knowledgeable and fun. I have tried products that I would not have known or thought about.

Tatcha rice polish is the best. Vintners Daughter didn’t work out for me but I purchased it at Nordstrom so return wasn’t an issue. Dr Loretta sunscreen is a winner as was the Clinique eye gel for my my husband. And loved the sleep doctor.

But the best part to me ( and why I am writing) is how you both reacted to the pandemic. No whining. Of course y’all were sad but didn’t feel sorry for yourselves. Another decorating podcast went political & talked about freedoms. I didn’t listen to hear their politics. Anyway, you two gave ways to help hairdressers etc. I appreciate your generosity that at a time when you were hurting you were thinking about helping others. It is a setback for you but with your attitudes and ambition everything will work out for you.
Now I’ll give you a truism your mothers or grandmothers might say, “This Too Shall Pass.” But it will and your lives are full of good things to come.

In the meantime I’ll keep listening.
