First, the FCC has approved a controversial demonstration satellite designed to reflect sunlight onto Earth after dark. Supporters say space mirrors could power solar farms and illuminate disaster zones. Vampires say Hell No! Astronomers counter that they could devastate dark skies, disrupt scientific research, and potentially flash-blind drivers and pilots. Because apparently the moon needed a loud, privately owned coworker. Then we investigate Lanmaoa Asiatica, a mysterious mushroom that reportedly causes people to see vivid, three-dimensional miniature humans marching, dancing, climbing furniture, and generally treating your home like their personal gnome amusement park. Stranger still, scientists have found no known psychedelic compound that explains why undercooking dinner can summon an entire pocket-sized civilization.
