Why Your Business Should Have a Podcast in 2026

Do you need a fancy studio, video cameras and a complicated setup to start a podcast? Absolutely not. In this episode of Raise Your Visibility Online, I’m sharing why I think podcasting is still one of the most powerful and underused marketing tools for business owners. I’ve been podcasting since 2017, and while the tools have changed, the basic process really hasn’t: sit down, record something useful, edit it and publish it. But the real opportunity goes far beyond simply building a podcast audience. A podcast gives you a reason to consistently share your expertise. It can help you build relationships with potential clients and collaborators, open doors to being a guest on other podcasts, grow your email list and create the raw material for the rest of your content marketing. And you don’t need to commit to publishing forever. A short six or eight-episode podcast series can be a brilliant way to demonstrate your expertise and introduce people to how you work. In this episode, I talk about:Why businesses are overcomplicating podcastingHow a simple 10–15 minute weekly episode can build your audienceUsing interviews as an easy way to get startedHow podcasting can help you build relationships internationallyWhy being a guest on other podcasts can create even bigger opportunitiesTurning one podcast episode into LinkedIn posts, emails and other social contentUsing your podcast to grow your email listWhy consistency matters more than having an elaborate productionCreating a short “capsule podcast” instead of committing to a weekly show foreverHow podcasting fits into a simple, sustainable visibility strategy One podcast. A week of content. One of my favourite reasons for podcasting is how much content you can create from one recording. Record a useful 10–15 minute episode and you have the starting point for your LinkedIn content, social posts and email marketing for the week. Instead of constantly asking, “What am I going to post about?”, your podcast becomes the source material. Create once, publish everywhere. Raise Your Visibility LIVEThis episode is sponsored by Raise Your Visibility LIVE, my inaugural conference taking place in Belfast on 7–8 October 2026. We’re bringing together business owners, marketers and experts to explore practical ways to grow your visibility through LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasting, email marketing and AI. And if you can’t make it to Belfast, virtual tickets are available, including access to the talks and video recordings. I’d love to see you there.
