I caught a wave that brought me into this podcast, so I figured I’d give it a try. From what I’ can tell, though, the conversations are designed to chip away at the faith and beliefs of Latter-day Saints. After listening to bits and pieces here and there, the one episode I actually finished was the one where the host met Satan and instantly regretted it. Wow—that sounded intense. I mean, who wouldn’t regret meeting Satan? But when this “encounter” (told only a handful of times) turned out to be a guy standing in a field with his face obscured and a glint on his teeth, it was… underwhelming. Not that I was hoping for anything darker, but the show definitely didn’t live up to the hype. That seems to be the pattern: sensational titles that promise big drama but rarely deliver. On top of that, the episodes feel geared more toward eroding faith than offering anything uplifting or constructive. “Bishop Leaves LDS Church!”—holy smokes! But it’s basically a page from the Jerry Springer playbook on clickbait. “Nursery Leader Loses Their Testimony!” just doesn’t land the same way. At the end of the day, I’m looking for content that strengthens instead of discourages and lifts rather than tears down. I wish y’all the best, but I’ll be paddling back out to catch a more uplifting wave.
